hello people,
i just got my derailleur hanger smashed and i’ve got no idea how.
had my bike hanging on a flixbus bike mount (photo attached) for 9h, rode 7 km and boom. the mount was strapped on the rims and on the seat post, but no contact points with the derailleur.
my girlfriends bike was also mounted and her derailleur is just a bit bent.
anyone experienced the same thing or knows how this could happen?

There’s no use in figuring out how it happened, something hit it and now it’s broken. You just need to install a new hanger to get back on the road.
Order a hanger or better two, with Poste Restante to your nearest post office.

Was there anything securing the bikes from moving side to side? Could the bike have hit each other?
Road debris? Someone intentionally smashing the bikes? Any other signs of damage?
