Hey 🙂
Please help me decide which route to take from Copenhagen to Stockholm. I have two options:
I'll bring a tent with me, so I can camp along the way. I've got a Decathlon Riverside 920 Touring bike, so I'm not fixed to just using asphalt roads. I've got racks in front and at the back for panniers.
Date: 23 September 2025 – 02 October 2025
On the first "Inland" route, I'd spent two nights (ie. 1 day) in Göteborg.
Any suggestions or advice on which route to take?

I have biked sections of both paths and I would highly suggest the EV10 route. The municipalaties of the different swedish cities maintain the route to a pretty good standard, where the inland route is mostly done on roads where cars etc. can do 70/80 km. and bikepath are rare.
After some time i got tired of being overtaken by trucks with trailers filled with wood. Although people in my experience drive with good distance to you, its just nicer to bike along the sea than looking at peoples carplates.
There are also some nice cities on the EV10 route. Kalmar e.g. is a cozy city to spend a day in. The Castle used be the home of the danish/swedish king (Denmark and Sweden fought a lot over the area in the 1600’s). There is a little chocolate store in Kalmar, which makes really good cakes called Johannas Choklad, can recommend.
I am on my way home from doing Stockholm – Brussels and did something similar to your ‘inland route”. Stockholm to Göteborg was unforgettable: the lakes, forests, wildlife, gravel roads of all conditions all day long (if you wish), seeing no other humans for a couple of days,…
So, my vote is inland. Many others on here have expressed reservations about EV10, but I have no direct experience.
