Cycle from Blackpool to Warrington 60 miles

60 mile ride, my longest this year

Oh, the sea looks a bit grim, cold, a little bit of wind in the air. Blackpool Tower. Now for the cycle home. Been on that a few times. There it is. Good old Spitfire. Sergeant Allan Lever Ridings. That’s this fella. So, after just over 9 miles on the coast riding, I’m now in the countryside. Kirkham prison. It’s a open air prison. Donkeys, please. If you are feeding the donkeys, stick to carrots, apples, and ginger not biscuits. Well, that’s green, isn’t it? Right. Then I’m 22 miles into the ride. So I’m stopping for a bacon on toast and a pot of tea at this Marina Cafe. Got to say though, it better be good because it’s not cheap. £910 I think it was. It’s arrived. Three pieces of bacon. Get rid of that wasp. off. Get out of it. Heat. Heat. Just in the village of Cron. The Lord Nelson Club there. Cafe. It’s a nice village. this. There’s the church. That’s electric bikes for you. Just had a bit of a steady uphill which hasn’t been too bad for a couple of miles. Welcome to Parold. I must be at the top now. So downhill from here. That’s a nice cafe down there. I’m going to be heading that way. When I said I was at the top of the hill before, I was lying. This is the hill. Uh just on the 60 cents at the minute. And I’m about a third of the way up. I’m not at the top yet, but have to stop and show you this view. Ah, that’s going to look flat, isn’t it? You kind of get to the top, you see the church and you think, “Yep, the build church is at the top of a hill. I’m going that way.” And it’s just up again. I don’t think it’s too far this time, though. Right. It’s now at 9%. But struggling a bit now. So, you might notice I’m walking up because the way I see it is if you’re struggling and get off and walk and that way you get to cycle another day, which is what I want to do. So, there you go. So, when you finally do get to the top of the hill, this is what you’re greeted with. Is it worth it? I’m just going to have some um dolly mixtures and a drink. I’m sure this section takes me down towards Caramel Dam if you know it, St. Owens. Well, so far I’m just on 50 miles. Not sure how long I’ve got left to go. Probably about 7 8ish. Just stopping for the last uh last break. Um I just nipped into a Morrison’s kind of express shop. I was going to get a pack of crisp and kind of coke or something, but when I was in there, the they had food reduced on the hot council. So, I got um hot chicken fillet sandwich £163 and um tango cherry. So, I’m going to demolish this and then um finish the ride and I’ll catch you in a bit. right then. That’s my ride done. I’m home. Um 60 mi. I rounded it off. I had to go around the block a couple of times plus my two miles to the train station this morning and then half a mile from the train station in Blackpool to the start point in Blackpool.
