So I was taking the dog on our nightly walk and one of my neighbors had a bike out front with a free sign on it. And I obviously start thinking about how it would probably fit my wife and about how she doesn’t really ride her current bike but maybe because it’s not cool enough and if I took this bike home and fixed it up, she’d ride it all the time. This was mostly a parts-bin build along with some cheap stuff from Amazon.
Cool story about this bike: it’s aluminum lugged to steel which apparently Raleigh needed Boeing’s expertise with and these were made in the factory in Kent, WA, just down the road from where I am in Seattle. If anyone can decipher Raleigh serial numbers, I’d love to know if the date is right.
