Hi all, I’m looking for a commuter bike. I’d like to learn a bit about bike repair so I don’t mind something that needs a bit of upfront work but will hold up over time!
What are your thoughts on this one. It’s a specialized Sirrus for $120. I’m 30F and 5’9”.
It is listed as a men’s sport bike but does that really matter?

What year is it? It looks to be in pretty rough shape.
How much maintenance can you do yourself. I think 120 is a good price for me as I’d be able to do a teardown and rebuild of everything. The photos don’t seem to show much rust but they are a bit blurry. 5’9″ maybe a a bit short for this one but at this price it’s worth taking a look at. If it rides OK and you don’t struggle to standover or ride it I’d offer 100 but be willing to pay 120 on a disc equipped hybrid that’s in OK condition.
