Hi all,
Going on a trip to italy in early october, going to ride the gravel ascent of the stelvio and doing a 5 day event around tuscany. Normally in NL i ride with 42mm pathfinder’s which are amazing around here, only in the wet they can be a little slippery sometimes.
For my trip i would like to use a more robust pair of tires and after some research i came across the racing ray/racing ralph combination. Thought about trying 2.25 up front, 2.1 in the back. My local shop only had the 2.25 racing ray so for now can only try the front tire. Just fitted it to test atm. Do you guys recon this is enough clearance? On the sides i can fit a 5mm allen key, where the knobs are tightest a 4mm will fit. (Shown on pic)
The bike is a canyon grizl cf slx (previous model) and the wheels are dt swiss GR1600’s with an internal rim width of 24mm.
I found a 2.1 version of the racing ray online, so going 2.1-2.1 is also possible i think.
Thanks,

I would limit mud riding to a minimum.
