    But yeah, bring tools with you. A chainbreaker and spare quicklink is a good idea.

  2. Theoretically possible to unthread the rear derailleur and use the shoelace to link the chain over the big rear and big front chain ring

    Remove the chain completely from the drivetrain so it doesn’t snag on anything and cause more damage to your bicycle components. After that you got a balance bike, dismount and push up hills, descend and coast where you can.

  4. I rode chainless for almost a year when I was a kid and couldn’t afford a free coaster. Think of it as a scooter! Or practice your skillz flat pumping. You can absolutely haul ass like that if you get good
