I’m looking for a hardtail that:
-is suitable for single track bikepacking
-can ride down technical, gravity-oriented terrain
-can climb decently well
-is around the USED $800-$1300 price range
For context, I would like to bikepack the Arizona Trail. It would be great if this bike could ride desert chunk decently (Sedona/Moab), but bikepacking takes priority over riding gnarly stuff. I’m coming from riding full suspension, so it’ll all feel new to me.
Here are some options I’ve been looking at!
Any and all advice is welcome.
These specific models have seemed promising to me: Nukeproof Scout 290, Santa Cruz Chameleon, and Trek Roscoe 8. Any others to be on the lookout for? Thanks!

You have all sorts of different sizes here. You need to figure out what frame size you’re looking for, that’s probably the most important thing to get right. Especially if you’re spending a lot of time on the bike over several days on a trip.
