Hi all,

Just wanted to share my recent experience and initial thoughts with the Aeolus 51 Pro wheels in crosswinds.

I started the Madone journey with a leftover set of Pro 37 wheels from my previous 2023 Emonda SLR7. The bike was absolutely gorgeous and loved it, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to get rid of it and replaced it with the Madone.

I live in a windy area and the crosswinds would toss the Emonda all over the place. When it came to the Madone, I opted to use the Pro 37s to minimize the issues.

The madone is absolutely awesome and much more stable than the Emonda which really surprised me, but it did feel like the bike was missing something.

I started looking for wheels and decided to look at all brands, with crosswinds as the main criteria. After some research, I found some promising comments on the Pro 51s being stable and decided to give them a try.

After 350kms I can say, the stability of these wheels is absolutely mind boggling. I have about 150kms of really strong winds, 30kmh+, etc and they really blew my mind.

The bike is rock solid, like literally zero movement with wind speeds that would toss the Emonda all over the place. The Pro 51s feel like the Pro 37s or even a tad more stable. I wanted to share my experience in case someone else is looking for aero wheels but lives in a windy area. The Pro 51s are it.

As for speed and pace over the Pro 37s, I still don’t have enough data. It has been too windy to try and do a proper garage science test. I don’t think I can tell a difference between the two wheel sets right now but the bike looks much much better to me me. Fully recommend the Pro 51s!
