I think he needed someone who had a higher profile than him in terms of results in that team with him. You know, if the likes of someone like Philip Jilar, an ex- teammate was with him and he was in that tour with him, I think he could have got him by the back and said, “You ride to the top of this climb with me and then you see how it goes.” And that respect for having a rider like that saying, “No, we’ll do this.” I think that’s what he needed. But with all due respect, he’s had so much wind blown up his bum since he was a professional that he is being listened to. So his decision is the final one. and he doesn’t have that person behind him to say, “No, you do this out of respect for your team. You try and do that.” And I’m not saying that he didn’t try, but I think he needed an elder statesman in that situation almost to grab him by the neck and be like, “No, you do this for your team. You do this to make sure this is the right decision for you.” Because for me, it just looks like he’s got bad legs. But his head’s rolled off more than anything. He he did say in an interview that his team director Class Lord was the one who told him to stop and get

  1. Geee.. leave the man alone! An illness or a bad day won’t detract from his character! He’s a world champion! Who are you to be so judgmental about him!?

  2. Not a good message to send your current or future teammates who work themselves hard for him. He should have toughed it out and helped a teammate win a stage.

  3. It's not like he'd been grinding himself into dust out there. He described having 'three really hard days'. Not common for him but he should have accepted the GC loss and waited it out.

To be talking about fearing being out for months if he rode on just doesn't add up. He hadn't been losing enough time. If he'd been losing 10-20 mins per stage then yes. Stop. That wasn't the case here.

  4. Way to go Adam. Enjoying your honesty in your commentary. Speaking as a black American, I love some of your fashion choices keep up the good work.

  5. Nobody bats an eyelid when a sprinter, or a classics type rider, drops out for similar reasons or to focus on another race later in the season, so I think people should just cut Remco some slack…

  6. I think he's not really cut out for le Tour. He's too good to ride for just the podium but if we're honest not good enough to win. He needs Pog, Jonas, Almeida as well as probably Ayuso and del Toro to either stay home or have really bad days to win the Tour.
Or the return of the 120km TT….😂

  7. Great video!!!! I love how you kept the eye candy out of the shot and all we hear from her is, mmm , right, and nonsense 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

  8. Everything he said about Remco's need for higher advice could be also said about that baggy pants/shelltoe Adidas/LA gangster/bocce league shirt ensemble.
