Day 16. What an absolutely monster day. Good morning and welcome to day 16. We’re bike packing the Perimeter Britain fundraising for Movember. And today’s stage, I would kind of class it as a transfer stage meets a mounting stage. The first 100k are flat or kind of rolling flat. And then the last 100 are like 2,000 m of elevation in 100k. Today is the day that I leave Scotland. Robot vacuum. Today is the day I leave Scotland and that feels like a good milestone to tick and uh head back into England for a bit. So, day 16 from Dumpries to Granger Sands, escaping Scotland and basically completing the Lake District. I went to Gregs and got four sausage rolls, which was definitely very needed. The first half of the day was flat but sort of rolling and kind of cross headwindy for parts of it as well. This is my mate Ian and he has joined me on at least three of these kind of big challenges before and it was amazing to have Ian’s company for the whole day again. Thank you so much Ian, you’re a legend. I also had Joe accompany well on some of the flatlands and there was some great cycle lanes actually uh on some of those parts which he sort of whizzed through and rode along the prominard concrete slabs literally as close to the water you could get. Went and visit a bike shop because I made an error of not tightening my through axle up. They had an emotional support dog. He was very very lovely. Um, basically my bike was rattling and not shifting well and all the problem was was that the through axle was a bit loose. So that was my own fault. We had this absolute monster 4 and a half km climb. It was savage. You can see it vanishing into the distance there and Ian doing Ian things, climbing up it like the mountain goat he is. And me in contrast struggling to survive. Um, the bike is heavy, but it’s a sorry site. We had some amazing views then in the Lake District and basically we had to go through this kind of part to be able to get as close to the coast as we could, but as you can see the back end of the ride was so climb heavy. Sheep all over the road. I don’t really understand what’s going on there. But I was absolutely cooked. The route today was savage. Cold dark north gave us some bonus gravel which was actually quite nice and missed out a climb. Nice to have a bit of fun. But yeah, all in all a monster day over 210 km. Incredibly back heavy day of climbing. One broken Chris. Thank you for watching. [Music]

Keep it up Chris !! Love the content 👌
It's incredibly impressive for such a huge day to include insane climbs – I'm working so hard to get to a level that allows me to do 200K in a day!
