building a fixed gear and that space seems big, i didn’t get anything with the bottom bracket or crankset to fill the space. bottom bracket is in the correct way, i think at least, i put in according to the L and R, maybe the pedal arm isn’t on enough? even then seems like they’ll be a gap

It’s fine
Looks fine. The right spindle length depends on the chainline and not any gap between the cranks and the frame which is supposed to be there.
Any less and the driveside crank would rub the frame.
they haven’t made assymetric bottom bracket spindles in years, and the BB only goes int he shell one way anyways
this is fine, there is more material on the DS crank arm to support the spider, etc.
