In this Episode of #RoadToSylt we hunted a storm hitting the north of Denmark. It’s been super spontaneous and a one day mission but we were definitely ready to score. There was pretty much going on in this one day, felt pretty much like a roller coaster. I hope you enjoy the outcome!

Yo, what’s up and welcome back to yet another video on this channel. Uh, it’s a second episode of Road to Sil. Uh, small vlogging series I want to do about my training camp for Sil. It’s the GKA kit of World Cup coming up end of August, some of you might know. So, this time we are going to Denmark. We’ll link up with Lassa again and this time Kim will join us as well. So, yeah, it’s always good to have a good crew with you. Yeah, we have a pretty decent forecast for Thursday in Huntsong. It’s pretty much one day, so we got to make the most of it. But yeah, today is Wednesday, so we’ll be heading over today and then wake up for the sunrise. Today is probably the hottest day of the whole year. Started in Hamburg with like 34°, I guess. Uh we’re going to Denmark where it will be like 13°, but right when I started the trip, the fan broke down, so my air con isn’t working. So, the air con is actually working, but the fan that has to bring the cold air in is not working. So, yeah, pretty sweaty and the worst timing possible cuz it’s like really, really hot. Yeah, I already checked the fuses, but it’s not the fuse. Should be the whole fan that is broken. Almost there. Now it’s been 1 and 1/2 hours of pretty much raining. Let’s go. Just arrived in Hansaw. Look how calm the sea is. This will change overnight for sure. Okay, now it’s time to check the actual temperature. They texted me like 2 hours ago that was freezing down here or up here. So yeah, first time opening the door. And as it was for the last one and a half hours, it’s still raining. I think the temperature is fine. Just fine. Bus, get up. We’ll find a place to sleep now and I’ll see you tomorrow in the water. You This is a spot for tomorrow. What’s cooking, bro? Yeeha! Tired. Good morning. Oh, yeah. That’s my second alarm. It’s 6:15. I feel like I slept like for maybe maybe 5 hours. The wind kicked in at 11 last night and the car has been shaking the whole night. There were some pretty hectic gusts. I just looked out the window for the first time and I’m getting excited right now. It’s looking pretty sick. I can’t tell you anything else. Check this out. Let me focus. Whoa. See the lines? It’s got to be about 30, probably more knots. Can you hear this? This is sand flying against the car and there’s no one out. Pretty lucky that we are three guys out here. So, whenever we film, there are two guys on the water, one guy’s filming, and that’s pretty good when there’s no one else cuz it’s freezing. It’s pretty windy and it’s rough conditions. Got to make sure they’re waking up as well as we have a busy day. We can’t wait. W show. Check this. Holy [ __ ] Holy [ __ ] Yo, what the hell? Can you tell it’s windy? I think you can. There’s the first kite. Check the Check this out. It’s not even 6:30. There’s the first kite. Wake up, Cole. Wake up, Cole. They need some more time. They’re still in bed, but I did my best. They might be waking up just now. So, let’s get back. Let’s get back to the coffee. I didn’t even still only this one guy out. Looks like a 7 m XLR Pro to me. See what he’s doing. Yo, he’s all the way on his own. It’s okay. We cooking dancing. Yeah. What’s the setup for the session? 6 m. I think Kim is on the 7 m. 7 m. 7 m. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Oh, heat, heat. They got lassa. What the [ __ ] Not so cooking. So, here’s what happened to Lassa in the last shot. So Kim and Lassa wanted to go for a session. Kim already started. He was on the water and then Lassa launched his kite uh 6 m and it’s pretty gusty today. It’s like insanely gusty. And yeah, as he walked from the launching area to the sea, a gust caught him. His kite was actually deowered, but the gusts are pretty strong today. Like pretty pretty strong. His kite dragged him into the stones. His one foot was completely cut open. The other one is Bruce. He’s just been to the hospital and made sure everything is fine and to clean up the one foot. Right now it’s quart 12. Um I’ve been up for 6 6 hours basically now. So yeah, I can’t wait for the boys to be back. Uh hope is okay, but I’ll check on him very soon. They’ve been sending me messages from the hospital. Seems like they had a good stay in the hospital. They got a free coffee and they’ll be back in a minute. It’s finally time to hit the water. Can’t wait. It’s actually just my second time trying the XR. The last time was on the XR Pro 8 m, which me like way higher than all the other kites before. So, I wanted to get an XR for sure. I can show you the clip from Cape Town. That was pretty sick. What the [ __ ] Was by far the highest jump of my life, I guess. Didn’t measure it, but yeah, that one felt proper. Still can’t really tell how much wind there actually is. Like, they’re pretty big gusts, but I do believe 8 m should be good, but I don’t know. We’ll try. And there are pretty big turbulences on the land as well. Oh, this was pretty much my warm-up jump. That’s why last I wasn’t filming at all. It was my first jump, first try going on a back roll and got super high. Must have been about 12 m or something like that. And yeah, as I said, it was my first session on the XR, so I mistimed the down loop. I pulled it a bit too early and a bit too far in front. I landed on the board, but I had too much forward momentum. So, I instantly fell off the board and did some cartwheels. And yeah, I could feel that the kite was flying to the left hand side. So, I decided to do another down loop, which yanked me up into the sky. I was flying backwards for like 5 m, crashing into the water. And once I came up, I was pretty much in my lines. My lines were tangled around the bar. My lines were tangled around me actually. And yeah, I’m super happy that nothing bad happened. But I definitely had that in my mind for the rest of the session. And even the crash of last was in my mind as well. So I took it pretty much easy for the session. Wanted to get used to the XR. [ __ ] happens. started. We don’t break in magic. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. All right. So, here we are. It’s still Thursday and we just passed the border from Denmark to Germany again and we’ll be back tomorrow. So, we found a good place to sleep, rest a bit. This will definitely be a trip to remember. We got super unlucky at certain points with the air con in Hamburg when it was 34 degrees with Lassa cutting his foot before even touching the water in the morning. Going to hospital when they came back. I set up my kite complete new gear XR. Thought I would go for a back roll that ended up being higher than I expected. Mistiming the down loop, flying backwards, crashing into the water, getting tangled in my lines. But in the end, everything worked out. Lassa got a bit unlucky. He couldn’t even kite. So, wish him a quick recovery. He’ll be back on the water pretty soon, I’m pretty sure. Other than that, it was just a pretty sick trip, a trip to remember. I hope you enjoyed the video. If you did, make sure to give it a like, subscribe to the channel, and leave me a comment. And then, uh, hope to see you in the next one. Cheers.
