A while back I gifted a garage find 1986 trek 500 series tri bike in pretty bad shape.
I stripped it down removing all the old cables,the triangular handlebars,the brake levers . Gave it a good scrub,cleaning the chain,sprockets and the bike in general. I replaced the 20mm tires with 25s,added wide drop bars,new matching red brake and shifter cables,a handlebar extender to hold the phone,a minoura lowride front rack,panniers an older cygo lite,and an older Ariel handle bar bag.
