I think it’s fine. Not as bad as some. Better than many others. Not as good as wax. As long as you are lubing and cleaning regularly it will make your chains last. Makes a mess though

It’s pretty good! I switched to drip wax because it’s less mess but I still use rock n roll gold on the bike on my trainer

Been using their yellow bottle for awhile, it works fine but it’s nothing life changing

Just lubed my bike with this this afternoon after a ride. I like how it doesn’t attract dust/ grime.
I ve us the Boeing stuff and muck off and I found they gathered to much grime.

It’s funny that I instantly knew this photo was from NZ.
Rock n Roll lube is fine, basically middle of the road IMHO

I’ve been using the gold and blue for over a decade. It’s my go to.

I used it for years before switching to wax, and I was always pretty satisfied with the results I got.

Well, it is The King of Lubes.

Works well and has kept the chain cleaner than any other lube I’ve used and I’ve tried a ton. Haven’t done wax but tbh…that’s just too damn much work. At least for me and I’d would bet any improvements, while real, will be marginal vs the much greater amount of work.

The Gold is like…. the 7th best drip / wet lube going. With so many better options I’d never buy it.

Easy to apply and cleans and lubes as advertised but does not last at all. I needed to apply every ride. Wolf tooth’s lube is similarly easy to apply and cleans better (you need to wipe off the grime it brings out) but lasts much longer.

Been using the gold forever. For a non waxed chain I believe it stays the cleanest of all lines I’ve tried (and that’s most of them)

No it’s not, and it doesn’t clean while lubricating either. I used to go through two chains a year with Rock n roll, and now that I switched to wax based lubes my chains last like 4x as long. Literally the only time I’ve work out waxed chains is when I don’t dry them after a wet ride and they rust.

I stopped using it when I found out the owner is a convicted felon for sexual assault with the intent to commit rape.
He was a state legislator where I live. The news came out when the sheriff did a background check for his concealed carry permit.
I used the gold lube for quite a while before that and thought it was pretty good, but he is not the kind of person I want to support.

I was my lube of choice before going to a waxed chain.

I enjoy it. I use absolutely dry. It can be messy but until someone convinces me otherwise, rock n roll is awesome

Depends on what you mean by “good”
There is more to chain lube than most people realize. Different types for different environments, and if you’re using this on a road bike, you really want to take efficiency into consideration. Zero Friction Cycling has a bunch of lab data that you can check out to see what lubes perform the best for any given application.
The fastest, longest lasting, and most efficient lubes are all hot wax dips followed by drip waxes and some wet options. Silca makes some of the best products out there. Rock n Roll didn’t test particularly well, but it’s better than nothing. The most important thing is to clean and lube your chain often.

I’ve used the gold before.. it was ok. Didn’t last long enough for me and I got sick of destroying my microfibers lol.. it needed to be reapplied basically every ride for me.

I use gold pretty much strictly. I know you’re supposed to lube more often, but even in working in a shop riding through 6 inch snow piles salt and ice all winter to get to my work I only re lubed twice. The cass and chain were so clean you could eat off them whenever I went to re lube and no I haven’t killed a chain yet.

I used it for a while before switching to T9. I find it keeps the chain way cleaner, and doesn’t require as much lube. I was going through a ton of RnR. It is pretty decent as a lube that cleans a bit, which I really liked.

I use the blue rock and roll and have for years. It’s great for dry climates. I buy it in XL bottles. I might eventually switch to waxing but for a dry lube a rock n roll is great.

Between Prolink Gold and Rock and Roll, I get about the same results. Remember to shake the RoR.
