  1. Looks like you’re working on your bike upside down. Are you sure you’re turning the bolt the correct way? You need to turn it the opposite way than usual when upside down. Edit: Im apparently suffering from stupidity, this advice is incorrect. Sorry.

  2. wd-40 and wait..then tap it a few times with a hammer and try. would recommend taking the derailleur off though

  3. PB Blaster penetrating oil. Get a can, spray a bunch, let it sit, make sure you’re turning the nut the right direction.

PB Blaster, wait 20 minutes, ~~hit it with an impact.~~ thread a box-end wrench over the wiring and kick it.

You might damage the axle, but it looks kinda fucked already, as does that nut.

Is it spinning the whole axle or not at all? If it’s spinning the axle put a 17mm on the locknut right inside the dropout to hold it in place while you remove the nut. And use the correct size tool (15mm), not an adjustable wrench.

  6. I”m confused about what I’m seeing there. Is that a damaged hollow axle with flats and a spring inside?

  7. Tighten the other side down, and use an 18mm wrench. Not an adjustable, or pliers. An actual wrench. Box end would be best, once you slip it over the power cord, depending on what kind of connector your bike uses. If it’s one of the big ones with knurled barrels, you’re stuck using an open ended wrench.

Can you clamp on a set of vice grips and use a cheater bar ? With penetrating oil.
