OP you’re confused. It’s not cross chaining, they haven’t gone to the small crankset. They’ve gone to the smallest cog on their front *wheel.* I assume this is a 2WD bicycle.
The fact that this would also be the most difficult gear for climbing is a diffferent problem.
Well, it explains why they were sweating like a m’fer trying to get up that hill.

Damn. Why didn’t I ever think of changing the gears on my front wheel? I’ve only been changing gears on my rear wheel like an idiot.
This bike has cogs on the front wheel?
I wonder what gear their lateral wheels were in?
And their top and bottom wheels at that
