In 2019 I rented a fat caad and loved it, but missed the chance to purchase. I’ve had 3 fat bikes since then, none of them scratching the itch. Finally a local fat caad popped up for sale, it’s got the original 9 year old tires though. What 26×4.8 tires is everyone liking? Mostly riding crushed limestone with occasional trail riding.

  1. Just swap to a new set of Jumbo Jims, but if those are not cracked or showing any major wear, they are fine.

  2. 4.0 is enough. 4.8 is for a very snowy ride and have a lot of rolling resistance.

  3. If you can find a set of Terravail Coronados, they are my favorite for that type of riding. Unfortunately they were discontinued a few years ago.
