‘Migrant Hotel Protests Will Spread’ | Former Detective: “Get Back To British Policing”

Talk’s Alex Phillips is joined by former detective chief inspector Mike Neville to discuss the recent migrant hotel protests in Epping and various towns in the UK. He says the protests will likely spread due to widespread dissatisfaction with immigration and how police forces have handled counter-protesters.

Neville tells viewers that the general public have lost trust in the police because of an ‘excessive focus’ on diversity over the last 20 years, calling for a return to traditional British policing.

Right, let us begin with these protests that it started off in Eping Forest that got a little bit of publicity, let’s say, and now we found out that similar protests have been taking place outside migrants hotels in Bournemouth, Southampton, Norwich, Leadeds. Do you foresee this stuff spreading and uh how should the police handle it? It will spread. There’s no doubts about that because I think just pe the ordinary people are just getting sick and tired of it. They see it on the TV and they see their own children being affected by this. I’ve got three daughters, two are younger, uh in the little town that they live in Hampshire, suddenly there’s a change in the park. There’s all these uh men who don’t look like they’re local who are just hanging around. And so even in small little towns in the middle of nowhere, there’s a real impact. Now, how do the police handle it? Well, the way they did it in Essex is obviously not the way to handle it because the the the duty of the police is firstly to what the the old phrase is uh to keep the king’s peace, to keep to keep any trouble uh away. If there’s two sides uh protesting, then you keep them separate. You you certainly don’t uh bring the two sides together. And if you start busing people around, uh it looks like you’re on one side and not the other. And this is the real problem with the police. The too many of the senior officers are a part of the establishment. They have the same world view of Karmama. And if you look at the protesters at the Eping Hotel in the world of Kestarma, the Ms and dads and granddads and grandmothers and the and all the people locals who are there, they are far right thugs because they don’t like um the uh illegal immigrants coming in. uh they don’t really think diverse is a strength uh and they really want Eping to be like it was when their grandparents were alive according to the K star world of course that the uh the people who are busting from all over the country by the socialist worker party with their silly little signs they are the good people in their heads uh because they love diversity and they love the fact that more and more immigrants come in the country uh and they they are really are nice people according in their worldview and this needs needs to stop. The police need to be impartial. We need to get back to British policing. Uh Sir Robert Mark is one of the best commissioners of the police uh in the Mets. He said the police should win by appearing to lose. Uh the police should be seen as uh just separate dealing with the dealing with the problem and not causing issues by marching protesters into each other. I mean, it’s absolutely crazy, isn’t it, that Yeah. M I want to pick up on that line. We need to get back to British policing because there is this wonderful tradition as you would know better than anyone in this country of policing by consent. It is why you don’t see guns in the hands of police officers in the UK unlike the US unlike Australia and that worked in a high trust society and it worked when people had trust in the police force and it does feel like we have lost that trust in the police. Do you think it will be possible for the police forces of this country to be able to get that trust back and and if so how do you do that? Well, firstly, it it really does sadden me that loss because I was really proud to be a Scotland Yard detective and around the world, people respected the police. I think the nicest story I’ve ever heard about the British police was a Jewish girl arriving in this country uh in 1939. And she said her first impression was of England was that the policeman smiled. She’d been in these awful country where the police were bullies and then she arrives in a place where the police are the friends of the of the public. And I think that’s what we need to get back to. It’s going to be a very long road. What we’ve had in the police over the last 20 years is an absolute obsession with diversity. We must have more of these, more of that, more of the other, more women, more this, more this. And this this will get us more trust. This is what we were constantly bombarded with. And it’s and the trust and confidence in the police is at absolute rock bottom because the public really don’t care, do they? When have you ever had a a member of the public saying, “Do you know what? I really didn’t like the sex, sexuality, or the color of the officer who turned up to help me.” What they say is, “I got a rubbish service.” You know, so it is a long road back. We could get back there because it is Britain and we we do have this trust in authorities, but it is such a long road. But there must be the new if a government comes in that’s new they must say we’re going to scrap all this diversity. All we want to do is recruit good people into the police who see the the British Legion mod so service before self because there are so many good police officers on duty today who are going to face knives guns and whatever else I’m going to do the right thing. But it’s the leadership to get back there. We need leaders who have diversity of thoughts rather than see this diversity of color, sexuality, and all this nonsense that no one cares about. And behind all this diversity and the cultural enrichment of unfettered immigration is this product which is it’s in the the Telegraph on page six today. No doubt other newspapers too. Migrant shoplifting gangs run riot in lawless West End. Thousands of pounds worth of designer goods are being stolen by asylum seekers across London. Security bosses say they’re helpless to stop the thefts carried out using tinfoiled line bags which don’t set off shop alarms. Brazen thieves seen stealing from Liberty London, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton before returning to taxpayer funded hotels. Concerns were raised by a whistleblower who told the son that 70% of shoplifterss in uh in the West End were asylum seekers. I mean it’s just 70%. Apparently the rate now of shoplifting has gone up 163% this year alone compared to last year because all these people staying at uh our convenience or inconvenience as it may be paid for by us to have you know lovely hotels like the Britannia luxury fourstar hotel down in Canary W are going out and nicking things knowing they probably won’t get caught. Some people say our poor things is to pay off the traffickers. I mean, it’s just mad. We are paying to put up in luxury rapists and thieves. It is incredible, isn’t it? I mean, the amount of shoplifterss got up, there’s over a half a million reported offenses. That’s the important phrase, reported. Because the vast majority of shopkeepers don’t report. If somebody steals something and runs off, they don’t report it because there’s no point. What? What? You’re just inconveniencing yourself. They only report it if they grab hold of the guy and and then the police come and then some do something about it. But the fact that we’re importing crime, it’s just incredible. Uh it it’s just amazing. But why wouldn’t they steal in a sense? Why doesn’t anybody steal? In times past, Alex, the shop the shoplifter used to go in the shop, didn’t they, and and surreptitiously hide the stuff and and sneak out and all the No, they go in with a basket and fill it up and just simply walk out of the door. It’s crazy. Apparently, apparently there’s now three reasons. Three minutes, but why wouldn’t you? Only 1% of thefts are solved. You have 99 out of 100 chances of getting away with it. And even if you get caught, you’ll go to you’ll go in front of the magistrate and you won’t go to jail. You’ll get some temp if you’re asylum seeker, no one knows where you come from, you’re undocumented, nothing seems to happen to you. And what’s even worse is one particular Labor council are offering asylum seekers halfp price ebikes. Here’s your getaway vehicle, lovelies. I mean, it’s just come on. Mark, can I can I get to the bottom of these crime statistics though because you know, everyone here listening uh and watching will feel like crime is getting worse in the major cities particularly. And yet at the same time, I hear from wet lib dem types like Fraser Nelson that, you know, no, crime’s actually continuing to go down. It’s never been better. What where is the truth here? Is crime actually getting worse or is that just a a fiction of the Murdoch press? It’s getting worse. And I’ll tell you why it’s got worse. For example, look at burglaries. In the times past, whether you were rich or poor, if somebody broke into your house and stole your television set, you would ring the police and the your expectation would be that the police would come and they’d be nice and give you good service and that they would patrol around and hopefully they would catch the thief and they bring your television back. Okay, people now report burglary. They have no expectation at all that the police might turn up and they certainly have no expectation that the burglar will be caught and the television will be brought back. So all they report it for is a crime number so that they they can claim the insurance. Yeah. If you’re poor, if you’re poor, if you’re poor and you don’t have insurance, well, why bother why bother doing that? So many crimes are no longer reported. I I was at I was at Charing Cross um station. Guy rode by on a bike. He had his hand on my phone. He missed it. Yeah. But he grabbed the guys next to mine and off he went. Yeah. I helped the bloke out who’d had his phone stolen. Said other police stations around the corner. Why? Why would I report that? But what’s the point? Because no one’s going to do anything about and they’re closing. The police are closing multiple police stations as well. Mike, I’m afraid we’ve got to call it time on
