Bought this to replace the bent forks on my old Trek, in terms of reach and clearance it actually looks alright, but the brake bosses are significantly lower down and I don't think any of the spare brakes I have would be able to line up with the rim. Maybe with some long reach brakes it might work, but would defeat the purpose a bit if I have to buy more parts.
Is this actually just an incorrectly listed 26" fork and can I complain to the seller?

That’s a 26 MTB fork and the brake bosses are also bent to shit
~The red fork is for V-Brakes, your old fork has cantilever brakes. You could buy a V-Brake set for $15 or return the fork and get another one with Cantis. They both have similar performance if you’re using good break pads.~
I remembered wrong, see below.
Return it.
Lear about axle to crown and cantilever vs v brakes while at it.
page 57 of this [document ](https://schauff.de/schauff/download/2009-2010%20Shimano%20Technical%20Information%20Canti-V-brake-boss.pdf)says that the distance from the hub axle center and the brake boss center should be 283mm for 700c. It would be 253.5mm for a 26in fork. I’d definitely complain if it is 253.5mm and they advertised 700c.
