Joe and Katie went to Girona for some R&R… but realised a Tour de France stage finish line was just 3 hours away!

Let’s go. I mean, that’s pretty [ __ ] in France on the way to the top of France. Right. So, we’ve driven for 3 hours from Jirona to Tuloo for stage Ramonville Ramenville for stage 11 of the tour. We’re just getting on the metro which is just conveniently pulled up now. I’m at the tour to France. We’re literally just walking past the finish line now where they’ll be in like 3 hours. Got Remco on a telly. I’m not doing the stupid vice thing. We don’t do that, do we? We’re trying to get down to watch them head out and then I’m going to spend an inordinate amount of money on uh swag. Lovely stuff. Oo, swag. Swag boss. We have a car that’s just come through, but we’ve just found a spot to watch him. So, we’re going to try and watch him come out of this underpass. Should be pretty sick. Oh yeah. Yeah, we are literally like the start is the other side of that bridge pretty much. [Applause] I didn’t see [Applause] you. They went past and even though it’s neutralizing only saw Ben Healey only the man who’s been lighting it up so far. But yeah, that was uh that was pretty sick. They go so fast even in the neutraliz zone. Four hours of uh higher bikes. Higher bikes. Bit of shopping. Let’s buy some merch. Got a free app. Got a free app. You reckon they know that we know Marty Brennan? Do you reckon they know? So Joe is going to show you how many caps he has managed to get for free. Right. Go on Joe. Show them. So far I’ve got this one. I got this one. I got this nice little number on my head. But we’re working on it. We’re going to get more. Shameless. We want a polka dot one. We want the vellocks one that’s knocking about that. I’ve seen a few people in a Scoda one. Scoda one. Yeah. There’s there’s there’s work to be done. So, this looks like it’s like the main caravan that start to come through. So, I guess the riders are all that far away at this point. About 10k to go and the caravan come through. We’ve had some team cars come through. So, yeah, just winning out now. It is so hard like cracking 5:00. It’s attritional. If Abraham wins, my fantasy team is going to be so sick. So, that was the mall coming in. We’re now walking through all the people back to the podium to uh watch Yonas Abrahamson get get crowned in my fantasy team get some points I did on. [Music] So we tried to get to the podium but it was just chaos and the presentation happened about 5 minutes after the end of the race. 10 minutes. Yeah. So, we didn’t really have much chance, but we’re now trying to find the buses and see if I can get Remco to sign me draggy bus, but it’s looking unlikely. Well, that’s it. Done for the day from Jirona for Tulus for the tour to France. That was a proper buzz, was it? Yeah, it it really was. Even though my mood right now does not reflect that because my battery is about this percent, but it was amazing. It was sick. You can’t get your head around how fast to go. Like I think average speed today was like nearly 49k an hour. Like it is just ridiculous. But that’s why the pros and we just ride around going slow. But yep, lovely stuff. What a day. And uh we’ll see you in the next one. Two days later. Right then. So this is uh only second time I’ve been riding Jona because it’s been so hot. Been here for the past week, but I had a bit of training to do but not done much. So today we’ve uh hired Katie Brown a bike and we’re doing the famous hingappy loop and we’ve picked up another straggler in the form of Luca Bedner. There they are chatting away, dropping me up the hill. So, we’re just about halfway up El’s Angels now. Stunning. It’s like 35°, so it’s far far too hot. But yeah, we’ll uh see how we got on for the rest of the ride. [Music] We’re at the top of El now and my face has got sun cream all over my eyes but it’s lovely. Down the bottom. There’s not much to see at the top of it but I suspect that the descent will get a little bit better. What do you think of that brown? It’s not as good as Chevvin. She’s trained well. She’s trained very well. Heat up here. Yeah, it gets off like that. I don’t really [Music] [Music] so long trying to get the GoPro out of my pocket then. And I couldn’t just too twisty. But that was a lovely little descent down the second climb there in Capuke. Luca left this for dead. But that’s what it is. [Music] So, we finished the pink apaloop now. It was super nice. There’s like two climbs in it um that are like just super steady, not steep, like really nice and then two pretty pretty sweet descents and then the rest of it’s just sort of flat bumbling along. We thought we’d finish it off at Madonna. Get some ice cream for the vegans. Yeah, Brown’s happy. Vegan ice cream. Luca’s getting one in. Yeah, good solid day out. Take the bike back and uh chill out. I mean, it’s just so hot. It’s been like 35° again. Like, we’ve literally rode so easy and like you can just covered in salt. Like, but can’t complain really. I heard it’s raining in England.
