Guys, we’re about to get on the Euro Tunnel. Lehat. The what? It’s called Lehat. Le Shhat. And it’s just so mad. It’s just this massive train and we’re just casually driving onto a literal train. Let me show you. Don’t really know if you can see. Um, so, um, see the bike. So, see, see the bike. Oh, I feel like there’s not going to be toilets on here. We’ve been up since 4:40 and it’s now4 9. I’m actually absolutely exhausted. Would you like to introduce yourself to the vlog? Hi, I’m Ollie. I play with cameras. Cal’s um wonderful videographer for the trip. Just the three of us for the weekend. Uh and K’s Luxmbourg half iron man begins. It is 5:41 and I haven’t really had a proper meal today because nowhere has had vegan options where we’ve stopped. But I have found the Luxembourg version of delivery. It’s called Walt and found a little vegan cafe and they had a vegan Caesar salad. So I was so buzzing and it’s in like the biggest box ever. That looks so good. Look at that. That was fully loaded in vegan Caesar salad. I’m so buzzing. I’m so hungry. And I ordered cake as well, which I’m hoping to heat up later. The journey was good for me. Anyway, I was passenger princess, but basically we were up at like 4:30, left the house at about 5:30, drove, went on the tunnel, and then it was like a 5 and 1 half hour drive on the other end. So, we stopped a couple times, like go to L. The boys got a McDonald’s. I had some chips, but didn’t have any vegan stuff there. And then we stopped again at a a petrol station and there was like a huge food thing there, but there still wasn’t anything for me there either. So, I haven’t really had much protein today. I had a Leon breakfast like you know the uh Leon vegan breakfast sandwich. It’s like a sausage sandwich relish. So, I had that this morning. But yeah, in terms of protein, that’s as far as we’ve gone today. But the Airbnb is super cute. I will show you it after I’ve eaten. But it’s it’s nice and roomy and spacious. There’s three of us. It’s one bedroom. Ollie’s got the whole sofa. There is a single bed in our room that we were going to move across for Ollie, but I think the sofa might be bigger and comfier. And I’m sat on the terrace and it’s lovely. But yeah, nice and green. Luxenburg is so beautiful. Like you wouldn’t think we’re right in the center of the city. Having a chilled evening this evening. Cal’s got a call with Cal. Who do you have a call with? Johnny Brownley. with Johnny Brownley to have like a little race prep kind of meeting. And I’m just doing a big grocery order, which I’m just gonna check through with the boys for basically dinner and snacks for the next couple days and some breakfast bits. So, oh my god, there’s a lot. Okay, it’s gone. Oh my god, I saw a Tik Tok. Apparently, if you click at wasps, they go away. Oh my god. I think it’s worked. Oh my god, it’s still here. Maybe it’s not working. Maybe don’t listen to Tik Tok. The wasp. I just saw on Tik Tok. Oh my god. Was on the camera. I think I’m going to go inside to eat. Catch you guys in a bit. But then don’t forget them. Thinking that you thinking your bike is already there. Um, make sure your tires are pumped up, but then uh make sure you got access to a pump in case something has gone wrong. Uh, have you got electronic gears and stuff? Uh, no. I’ve not got electronic gears, but I’ve got, um, yeah, I’ve just got, um, 105s. Good morning. Good morning. It is Saturday and it is the day before race day. And today we are heading to the event village for Cal to drop off his bike and some other bits. It is now 10:33. Is that I think my watch is on English time. It’s 11:33. Yeah, it’s 11:33. None of us have had a coffee yet because there was no coffee in the Airbnb. It is so beautiful here. Let me show you how incredible. It is so gorgeous. I mean, I’m not envious of Cal racing, but I am envious of all the views that he’s going to see on this race. I think it’s literally going to be the most picturesque race ever. Like, the drive here was actually so beautiful. I’m really excited to try and get to see a little bit more of Luxembourg. probably when I’m watching Cal Racing to be honest. Yeah, it’s going to be interesting. I’ve never watched a Iron Man before. So, I don’t really know how it works in terms of where I have to be for both like well the cycle, the swim and the run. They’re all in different countries. I think like I think the swim is Germany. Cal, what kind Oh my god, I thought was coming at me then. What countries is different aspects of your race? Oh, um swim in Germany. Literally there. Um are you swimming where I just showed the camera? Yeah. Oh wow. swimming in Germany which is there and then cycle mostly in Luxembourg and then we go do a loop through France. So and then the run and then the run’s in Luxembourg. So cycle is Germany. Germany cycle France run Luxburg. Cycle France. Oh yeah. So it is three countries. The only Iron Man race that does that. Wow. And today you’re dropping off your bike and all my transition equipment. Oh, you drop off all transition stuff as well. Locked and loaded in. Oh my god, I found somewhere over. It’s actually the only coffee stand here out of order today. We found another place that sells coffee. But will they have laid to avion? I hope I hope so. Le Aon get a photo with this guy up. Yeah, of course you can. Just found out a little bit of a cheat code from you. Get some talcum powder inside the socks. Why? Why do you do this? Yeah, it just absorbs moisture from the swim. That’s all. So wet tools. Yeah. All right, cool. So is that open? Yeah, it is now. How much do I shake in? Uh, a couple of pumps and then give it a shake. And then I I tend to empty it out, but I just empty it after cuz there’ll still be a coating. This is so funny. Oh my god. Good news is it can only be a maximum of 2,900 people. I’m the only one not racing or working. So, I’ve been ordered a very large wine. Cheers. Ooh, that was really nice. Good. Yeah. Do you want a sip? Are you taking the piss? I’ve got my electrolytes. Am I all right? You like my Iron Man cap? I love it. How much do you think I spent in the merch store? God. Uh, how many things did you buy? You bought a cap, a mug, a top, a mug, a t-shirt, six gels. Um, I think that was it. €70, €80, over €100, €130. That is so much money. Carl, the mug is so ugly. No, I like the mug. No, I got the mug as well. Yeah, the Luxembourg one. No, no, that one was nicer. I would have minded that. I bought a bottle. I bought a bottle as well. Yeah, I got You got the nicer mug bottle. The Luxembourg mug. I got the visor and the Luxembourg cap. And it was Yeah, it was over €100. So, you both spent over €100. Hannah. Hannah. But she got the little lemon. Oh, that was Yeah, that is cute. Wait, so who spent the least? You did. 105. Oh, so you spend the least. And obviously you spent the most. Let me show you the mug that she’s slating. I think it’s sick. That’s awesome. Imagine quite good. Imagine me just enjoying my coffee in there. No, yours is more. The problem is that doesn’t that doesn’t say it’s a 70.3. Exactly. Sorry, you only got a half tattoo. Yeah, I was thinking that. She might consider it. Yeah, Paige. My friend Paige has got the Iron Man tattoo. Yeah, but she’s done a full Oh, next year we’ll do a film and get been quite the struggle to get food. I basically have ordered a pizza. The pizza usually comes with olives and anchovies and capers, but basically I said no cheese and can I have mushrooms instead. But they forgot the capers, but that’s fine. But like whenever Cal’s doing races and I’m not doing races, I just carload along with him just cuz that’s the vibe. Good morning. It’s 6:27 and we are walking to the start line. I was just saying it wouldn’t be a race day without a nice long walk to start line. No, it wouldn’t. And it wouldn’t be a race day without the shivery nerves. Yeah. So nervous now. Are you feeling nervous now? Yeah, I’m excited but also extremely nervous. Yeah, just looking at the river, it looks beautiful. Yeah, but I mean I’m not going to say so. Yeah, for the context of your vlog, basically there’s a cut off point where you’re not allowed to wear a wet suit because the water’s too warm and it becomes a safety hazard cuz you could overheat. So, it’s around 24° C. Um, and yesterday the official the official recorded temperature was 22.7. Touch and go. Um, but based on how cold it is this morning, I’d be very shocked if it’s jumped up, but you just never know. Yeah, that would mean I have to swim directly in my try suit, which would be a lot harder because the wet suits are buoyant. you float and they’re easier to kind of glide through the water cuz they’re slippery. So, well, fingers crossed for you. But yeah, it does feel a bit chilly this morning. So, I think you’ll be all good. I’m so proud of you. Going to smash it. Very exciting. Not excited and nervous. Coming through with the merch as well. What are you doing? Not of the Ruby transition. So, we have the official water temperature is 22.8°. So that means the wets suit is legal. Forgot to put these in my transition bags. I could they they could stay in my back pocket, I reckon, and be fine under my wets suit. Or you can just go back in quickly. Whatever you feel more comfortable doing. Put them in your back pocket for now. Go sort all your swim stuff and then if you have time, go and whack them in. There is so much to think about. You think you got so much time in this. Should I pour body oil into the inside of the suit? Yeah. Is that what you would do surfing? Surfing is very different. Surfing. Surfing. I’ like a bit of boiling water in the suit. But you don’t need to do that for that one. Just do the vast thing around my neck cuz I’ve never had any issues anywhere else. So don’t change what’s broken. I wouldn’t do anything new today. No. Right. Call’s dropped everything he needs to drop off now. There is honestly so much to think about when you’re doing something like this. Yesterday he dropped off his bike and all that sort of stuff. And then this morning he went back got of his like nutrition to his bike and everything else. Came back out and then realized he when he was going through his other bag that he’ left his contact lenses in those. Then you had to go back through to drop his contact lenses at one of the transition zones. There’s like different transition zones where you need different things. But he’s just dropped off his finishing bag into another section. And now we’re walking to the swim to start. I feel so nervous. It’s the most nervous I’ve ever felt. Really? You got this. Just going into the unknown. But remember, you’ve done all of the things before. You’ve done your sprint race. You’ve done the training. You’ve got this. Mhm. Like be telling yourself that you’ve got this. Don’t be telling yourself you’ve got this. I know I’ve got it. It’s just stress. Yeah. I can’t imagine. Not me crying after saying bye to Cal. Oh my gosh. The atmosphere is crazy here. Oh, so nervous for him but so excited. [Music] [Applause] [Music] for our [Applause] [Music] Okay, so he decided he’s 3 minutes in. He started at 8:17 a.m. and he wants to do about 30 minutes. We’re looking at 8:47 to finish. I’m literally going to stay at the start finish line cuz they finish literally right in front of me here. And so basically their start point is literally there when they’re all coming in and then I’m guessing the finish is here. They loop around here. They go all the way along this bit and then I’m guessing they finish and come back through and come up here. Basically I’m just going to stay put here for half an hour so I can hopefully see him come out. But everyone looks the same in the water cuz literally everyone in his wave has the same color swimming caps and everyone’s just in black swimsuits and goggles. So, it’s going to be pretty hard to spot him, I think. All right, guys. We have first place coming through now. Absolutely crazy. So far ahead of everyone else. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Couldn’t [Music] [Applause] [Music] spot him on the swim at all. Kept thinking I saw him but didn’t. So now I’m just going to have to wait try and get him on the bike. I didn’t even get him on the run transition or anything. And it’s absolutely packed. God, this is hard. So much harder than a running race. l just kept cheering cows to like random men thinking that they were him and they just weren’t. Trying to find a spot hack to the brim. Oh, go on Cal. Come on. Cal, this is what 32 km an hour. 32 km an hour. He’s doing really well on the bike. I thought that when I was going to sip this coffee, it wasn’t going to be oat milk, but it is oat milk. They ran out of Frappuccinos, which I think is their version of like iced latte cuz they had no ice left, so that’s fine. I’ll take an oat milk coffee yesterday. I had no coffee all day. So, we are basically struggling to find him. Ollie tried to go up towards like the hills where they were turning, but you couldn’t even get there in time cuz it’s so far down that way. Like, they don’t come back on themselves at all. So, it’s just impossible to access them. And it’s the same like speaking to the media tent. There’s no mopeds going up there. There’s no cars going up there. There’s no bikes. So there’s just no way. And she was basically being like, “Yeah, it’s a really like undocumented zone.” And to be fair, when we were coming, Cal was like, “It’s so weird. There’s like not much content, Luxembourg, Iron Man.” But I think this is the reason cuz you just you honestly just can’t gain access to any of the areas. We’re just going to go find a spot where Cal’s going to finish his cycle basically so we can catch him there and then catch him on his run. The run’s going to be easier to get him, but I mean it will be busy. But it’s along the river. We will be able to see that. I’m currently at where the bike finishes. So, he’ll cycle through here, transition, and then he’ll come out here and run. But he’s not expecting for another like hour and a half. But the first guy’s expecting like 10, 15 minutes. No other way to catch him on the cycle cuz he went really far away and then he goes up the hills and there’s literally no way to get there. So, yeah, I’m just like camping out here in the hope that I catch him here. But I managed to get um oat milk, coffee, and these peanut balls. So hard to spot him in the swim. What the hell? There was literally just like thousands of like green cap goggled aliens just swimming by. And I was like, I shouted Cal at a man thinking it was Cal. And then the next thing I know it was a different man. But I feel like it was Cal because looking at the time he finished and the time I was filming, it should have been him. Soon past when the bike corn for a second, it is so hard to support a dry alone. Sorry for the vlog. Um, I’m just bored. There’s so much waiting around. Love you, guys. I thought I was only gonna get one protein ball. There’s like a whole tub full of them. You can see if Ollie wants one. Look at this. There’s literally 1 2 3 4 5 6. They look so good. Not bad, you know. [Applause] First two men are through. Also, Ollie’s got a great spot to capture C as well. He’s literally right there, guys. It’s actually chaos. It’s getting so chaotic. Like, the busier it gets, the more people are trying to cross the finish line. It’s actually pure chaos right now. So good. I was just saying it’s so much like chaos when like loads of people come across that finish line at the same time and everyone’s like trying to get off their bikes. It’s Yeah, I know. So many people have been like call back because they’ve um not got off their bike soon enough and they’ve like cycled across the finish line. And I know I was like please count that one referee had to chase a guy all the way out there. Oh whistles going [Music] keeps making up bits of time. So he’s literally expected here in 15 minutes now. I’m actually so excited. [Music] is in position and ready to go. And we are both ready to get all the content. I’m so proud of you. You’re doing amazing. I love you. Yeah. Come on, Cal. Come on. You got this. Come on. You got this. You got this. You got this. [Applause] You’re doing so incredibly. We’re almost there. You are so close, dude. Dig deep. Okay, you’ve got this. You are so so close. All you need to do is loop around this bit and then you’re on the home stretch. Okay, all this hard work, all this hard work is paying off. I’m so proud of you. All right, love you. Cal literally has less than a lap to go and I am so proud of him. Like, I can tell that he is really struggling. Like, he is really, really struggling, but he’s pushing on. He’s pushing through and he’s going to absolutely smash it. like his time is amazing. Obviously had no doubts because he worked so hard, but it’s just incredible seeing him do something like this and really push himself. Yeah, I don’t think I know anyone that’s just like more hardworking, more determined. He is just incredible and yeah, I can’t wait to cheer him on for this final bit. Ollie’s gone straight to the finish line to try and get a spot cuz he’s going to be there in less than half an hour. But I really wanted to catch him to push him on for this final final couple kilometers. So yeah, I’m going to focus in to try and catch him rather than yapping away um to you guys because I’ve missed him a couple times now from when I’ve been looking out for him, let alone when I’ve been chatting away. Nearly done. Nearly done. Come on. You got this. [Applause] That’s it. We’re all done. single-handedly the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my
