Brest is a port city in Brittany, in northwestern France, bisected by the Penfeld river. It’s known for its rich maritime history and naval base. At the mouth of the Penfeld, overlooking the harbour, is the National Navy Museum, housed in the medieval Château de Brest. Across the river stands Tour Tanguy, a medieval tower. To the northeast are the National Botanical Conservatory and the Océanopolis aquarium.

Cette ville a subi des bombardements massifs durant la seconde guerre mondiale. Il a fallu reconstruire vite après guerre.

Not Brest’s fault but it just goes to show that we did beautiful cities much better back in the day. All the Old Towns in any European (non-destroyed by war) city you care to mention are 10 times out of 10 always more beautiful and attractive than post-war constructions. Le Havre? Horrendous. Rotterdam? Horrendous. Southampton? Horrendous. Thanks for the walk, though! 👍

Une ville qui était magnifique et ou il faisait bon d'y vivre, aujourd'hui c'est une catastrophe, entre le tram et les travaux du tram qui détruit toute la ville et la rend moche et les migrants et ksos. Cette ville et de plus en plus catastrophique.. dirigé par un maire de gauche qui est corrompu, c'est pas étonnant.. je suis triste de voir ma ville sombré… Brest c'était mieux avant.
