I posted earlier asking about carbon bikes for a century ride I’m doing in September, and now I found two different Felt bikes and am wondering which one would be better! The red one is $600 and blue is $900. For the purposes of the century ride and training up to it, is the blue one really worth $300 more?

Red details:
– Ultegra rear derailleur 10 speed
– Carbon fork
– Carbon seat post
– 650c 23-571
– FSA gossamer crankset with external bottom bracket

Blue details:
Ultegra 11 speed. Crank: 50/34, 172.5 length. Disc brakes. DT Swiss rims.

I would not buy a trip bike (red one) as an entry to the sport. It will be uncomfortable, tires are very skinny, and it’s not really good at anything besides going fast, straight. Buy an “endurance road bike.”

As for the teal bike…yeah it looks like a fast bike but imo it’s overpriced.
