Got inspiration to post from a person sharing something similar.
I bought this for 80$(800 NOK) and want to slowly make it into a touring bike. I have some day trips planned to get a feel for what needs change, but these are my thoughts for now:
I have ordered(as well as a bottle holder) 40mm Schwalbe Marathon racing tires, to make it a bit more sporty for paved roads, and am excited to see the difference in performance.
My second consideration is buying a butterfly handle, as the current handlebar feels too narrow as well as uncomfortable on the hands. I'm thinking Butterfly bars over dropbars for comfort and ease of installation. So I'm kinda thinking of just buying this right now.
The seat is also something I need to test out. I'm a bit worried it'll cause chafing. But I don't really know what to look for in a new saddle so any tips would be appreciated.
I can lend some panniers from my dad so as of right now that's not a problem. I would love a bike computer tho, to get a sense of my average speed etc. But then it seems dumb not to get one with GPS while at it, but then it becomes quite the investment.
As a complete beginner I'm also thinking of what my repair/tune up kit should look like, but there won't be any long trips until next summer so no big rush there.
