Short Travel mount / London Travel mount

Hi all,
Sorry if this is a silly question.

I have this used NS Soda Air with a cane creek shock. The NS Soda manual says these two shock mounting possibilities are "short travel" and "long travel"

It is currently in short travel mode. I bought it off someone who did a lot of jumps, where as I do more DH, freeride stuff (well…I used too!)

Am I right in saying I can just swap the position round? The same shock will work in both positions right?

Again. May be a silly question. Just never had a bike with two shock mounting options before.
