I picked up this Univega Via Carisma for $100 off the marketplace hoping to use it as a touring bike. It’s chromoly, has mounts for front and rear racks, and the gear ratios seem good, but I haven’t seen anything online about people taking it long distances.
Anyone have thoughts on this as a touring bike? Thinking of putting some Jones bars or maybe converting to drops… in which case maybe it would make sense to get a different frame.
