I got in a heavy storm yesterday, trapped in the woods. I couldnt see anything when I was trying to ride the bike and ended up seeking shelter under the trees for an hour. My vaude rainjacket was no match for the storm and I happen to know now which bags are not waterproof.
Reminder to bring proper raingear/next time I’ll bring a poncho

Frankly, I have the feeling that the good old cycling poncho is understated. Unless you have wind, it rocks.
I’m even considering taking it on my upcoming trip, even if I now have a patagonia rain jacket and endura rain pants – In summer poncho is much more comfortable (less sweaty – better ventilation)
I’ve got a cheap poncho packed for my next trip. I was also thinking if it’s wet I can use it as a small makeshift Tarp to put my head under so I don’t have to close my bivvy up completely
No idea if that’ll work or not.
