Next week I am going on my first little bikepacking trip.
I am driving about half of the Slovenia West Loop: https://bikepacking.com/routes/bikepacking-slovenia/
I am taking the "Soca Variation" https://www.komoot.com/collection/1347997/bikepacking-auf-dem-slovenia-west-loop-soca-variante
and I am driving clockwise from Ljubliana to Tolmin, which is about 200 kilometers. I plan to drive 60-70 km per day and arrive in 3 days, which means 2 nights on camping sites.
I have searched some campsites and am planning to spontaneaous go there, depending on how far I can/want to drive per day.
Do you have any tipps, any Dos and any Don'ts? Recommendation for camping or so?
Also I read that Slovenia is a bear country.
To the people who live there or who have done bikepacking there: Do you take any precautions? Like bring a bear spray and/or something to make noise? Or do you for example not travel alone?
Also: What are the areas I can expect to meet a bear?
Sorry for the noob questions, never travelled where I could meet a bear 😉

Im gonna hijack this because I plan on riding the west loop too in 1 or 2 weeks. So thanks for asking 🙂
Dont worry about bears, too much people around.
Careful with wild camping in Slovenia, especially in national parks (you will be fined if caught)!
Otherwise enjoy, Slovenia is beautiful!
