Hello there vintage bicycle lovers. I hope I'm in the correct spot for such a post, and I've done my best to read the rules, and so… I woke up this morning, and upon noticing a bicycle in my driveway with no other immediate explanation I consulted my camera recordings. A very pleasant neighbor from a few doors down who bicycles as a bit more than a hobby had walked the bicycle over, and walked back home. Now, I do not cycle as a hobby… I'm more of an artist, and builder of fun things, and he's dropped off stuff for more in the past.

I'm sure I'll have a discussion with him about it in the near future, but until then and even after that discussion I'm sure I'll remain inquisitive. He's a humble man, and though I don't fear any dishonesty from him, but quite the opposite. In his humble nature he may attempt to downplay simply giving me this bicycle because it seems kinda too nice to just toss out or give away…

In any case, the bicycle is a Bottecchia Columbus SL, and I really don't know much more about this particular bicycle which, due to the 1990 cutoff for this particular sub I'll just say if this bike missed the cutoff, one of the Campione stickers has 1966, 85, 86, 89 so I thought maybe it was made in 1990 but I'd understand if I need to abscond to another sub… Lol. So, yeah I'd be interested in any and all information anyone can tell me, like is it an extremely common Italian road bike or IDK because you don't know what you don't know… And value is a thing that's of interest to me, but understandably that's a subject better left to discussions with maybe more data, but a ballpark number comfortably offered would suffice.

Anyways, I have access to the bicycle so other photos can be taken if necessary, and if a serial number would greatly assist us I can, with a bit of direction, acquire it. Short of the above, and these photos, and without speaking with my neighbor please enjoy this handmade bicycle from Italy. Thanks for your time.
