Hello. I am just getting into cycling and am looking for beginner road bike. I was hoping to not spend over 500, but did not realize how expensive bikes are these days. I will probably not be riding more than 50 or 60 miles per week, but have aspirations to do longer races or triathlons (not super competitively) in the future. Came across this on facebook marketplace for 650:

Full package deal:
Canondale 58 men’s road Bicycle like new. (light as a feather). No damage. Tires and tubes perfect condition. Under saddle Bike kit with extra tube, tools and CO2 inflation kit.

It is 58cm, i am just over 6 ft tall. I do not know anything about bikes, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Great bikes, good to put a lot of miles onto. Could maybe negotiate on price a little, but it’s a disc brake bike with decent tyre clearance which makes it somewhat in demand with modern trends. Size should be about right for you, but it can depend on individual proportions too so try it out first. Can be hard to tell if you’ve never used a drop bar bike before, but try to make sure you’re not too stretched out, that you can have your hands on the brake hoods without putting too much weight on them, with a small bend in the elbows. You can adjust the fit somewhat with spacers or a different stem, but if the bike is too big for you then there’s only so much you can do.

I’d try to get it for less but no lie personally I would pay the full $650. if they didn’t budge on the price

  3. Great bike at a great price. I have the same.model Synapse. I’m 6′ and ride the 58cm frame. Very nice ride.
