Wanted a summer project and a casual bike to ride besides my Checkpoint. I also figured having an extra bike around would give my wife something to ride, which is how I justified it to her.
Over the past few months, I’ve been picking up old bikes on Facebook Marketplace to tinker with and learn bike maintenance. Some were total junk, others just needed a cleanup. I donated the better ones and extra parts to a local build a bike charity.
I ended up with a Trek 930 and a Trek 800 frame, but no parts, so I decided to build them out as personal projects. I had the 800 sandblasted and I’m in the middle of repainting it now.
Not prefect but been a fun process. Will used what I have learned to put together another ridiculous theme.
