    Is there are chance it will get you stuck in the middle of nowhere? Absolutely.

    A thing to keep in you mind while preparing for bikepacking is: how to reduce the risk of mechanicals and how to reduce the risk of those mechanicals being not fixable on the roadside.

    This is an easy prevention.

    Is the weeping the problem? I wouldn’t worry since there looks to be plenty of tread left. I’ve never had issues with weeping tires but that’s just my personal experience. I’m interested to hear if someone else has had issues stemming from that.

  4. I am personally not a big fan of the panaracers. They are lighter, but therefore also not as puncture proof as other tires. I habe chosen Schwalbe G One Overland for my Bikepacking trips – had zero issues so far on like 3000 km.

    You will *need* to replace them eventually, regardless of what you do. So why not replace them now, and keep the old ones. If you’re so keen on getting the most out of them, you can always change back to the old ones once you get home and the risk of getting badly stranded is lower since you’ll be close to home
