stage 19, the final mountain stage. This ain’t the profile. There was an infectious disease outbreak in the top of Culderizes in some cattle up there. So to preserve the tranquility of the race, they did not uh do that climb. They just did the cold dup pre Rosalon llan. I’m not making this up. That happened. And so in break formation, there wasn’t any again. Tre said we have we want maximum points for Milan. That happened. And then everyone after that basically they’re at the base of the cold dup prey 12.6k 7.7%. Look who’s on the charge already. Primolich Alex Bodara Store. But this climb is a bit of a fake news climb. The last 7ks are very steep. 7ks over 9%. Tim Wellins comes to try and restore control because a big dangerous group goes up. Arrell is trying to convince them to pace cuz Ber attacked. Martinez and Stannard were riding like strangely. Uh there’s maybe a Johannes in there. Campon Tobias Fos. But Wells has got this on a tight leash. 24 seconds. doesn’t go above 50 seconds on this climb despite Roglitch who’s fifth on GC creating a group with Martinez alone and riding full gas on Nicole Dup prestar’s armor get dropped they will get caught later on Rosalan so well does a allout effort there technical descents coming up in the rain as well look where Kevin Vocalan is he’s with two Arca teammates at the back also notice there’s a Unoax rider behind them so that a Uno X rider. It knows exactly where Kevin Vocalan is. Can see if splits are appearing, which they’re nearly doing on this descent. And at the bottom on top of the damn wall, Lengnes looks behind, sees a gap. Maybe he was told by that Unoex rider there’s a split. And I mean, he’s not a great descender of Lneson, but he makes it in that front split. And then he comes to the front before the Rosaland and absolutely starts smashing it. Yu and Costu is on a gap to someone drop the wheel on the descent and that’s begins an hour and a half of chasing for Kevin Vocler in the valley floor. Martinez and Valentine Parapantra is probably not the riders even on a 6% climb that Priml’s Rogich would have hoped to see with him. You want an Aaronman, a Fos Camponauts type guy. The descent though VPP initially drops them. Rogich comes back, goes straight past the little guys and then it’s a very technical descent again. Rain begins in the valley floor and near the bottom. Wellins actually whacks it for UAE in the gap. Gap was only 40 seconds to Roglitch in the 10k valley before Llan. Obviously Tim Wellins completely moss into that and Roglish day I mean is it done? How cooked is he? Is he going to lose his fifth on GC? Well starts to climb really really hard. It drops Rogich Ben O Connor who won the stage yesterday. It even drops Adam Yates who we thought was going to pull after Navi. Navvice begins but his pull it’s not the nuclear lead out that we saw when it was the Wells Navias combination on Haltam. This is an 18k climb. It’s not like Haltam which is a bit shorter. It’s in the rain and so a curious situation emerges kind of like what we’ve seen on Super Baner and what we saw on Lelo yesterday. D Kathon take over with Aelian Parantra and Callum Scotsson who’s climbing very well for Felix Gaul because Vogglitch is dropped and so Gal can move into fifth on GC that’s why he attacks he’s got Vingard and Pagatcha in the wheel of course is he going to continue now and Yates are dropped so both Pagata and Vingard have no domestics left although Frank Vandenbrook’s coming back for Onley and with everybody isolated Arisman who’s out of GC and all the other guys here in the top 10 he starts to attack Pagatcha instead Instead of just closing it down, he attacks Vingard uh to try and get separation and then do the last 14ks of this climb solo to win the stage. But he cannot shake off the Dane who’s wearing the KM jersey on behalf of Pagatcha today. And so what’s going to happen? No one’s up the road. Neither have teammates in shot. This is what Almea would have been here for. Probably Almeida would have been with these three and then he would have been attacking and then Pog would have marked Aaron and Almea probably won the stage. but he’s not here. And so Aaronman knows that he’s feeling incredibly strong. He won a stage in the Pyrenees and where he was, I think, the third strongest on the climb as well. And today he looked at least the third strongest as well. He attacked them four separate times and the fourth times the one is is the charm. That’s what we also saw on Festra and the Jirro. Vingard look no interest in chasing. He starts h taking a gel. Pagant starts to ride more of a defensive tempo. Frank Vandenbrook begins to bring back on. I don’t think he actually needed to pace because Lipovitz was there. Maybe they were trying to make it hard to crack Lipovitz. I guess only needed to be on the attack. He needed to take time whereas Lipovitz was just defending. Gaul gets back to them. And now Pagacha has a de facto teammate because Gaul wants to pace. He’s got to make up as much time on Robic as possible. Uh but then when the gap goes to 5 minutes, go stops pacing cuz he’s into fifth on GC. He can sit in the wheels. Pagatcha or Vingard might pace. Paga flicks Vingard. No response. So Vingard riding very defensively in the wheels of Pagatcha on this climb. Meanwhile, Aaronman, he had 36 seconds. Pagatcha attacks again. This time Omni responds. Maybe a mistake. Although if he gets in the draft and they pull him away from Lipovitz, who wasn’t in the wheel straight away, that’s his ticket to third place on GC. Aaron, it went down to 24 seconds with 4ks to go. 20 seconds with 2.2ks to go. And on starts to crack under the pressure of Pagachi. So it’s not like Pagachi was riding slow. He’s literally dropping onley off the wheel and Aaron is also trucking. Lipovitz informs the radio that Onley’s dropped maybe asking what to do and he would be solidifying his third place on GC. That’s why he comes to the front. Probably didn’t think any stage was realistic. Aaron though 16 seconds with 1k to go. They can almost reach out and touch him because now Lipovitz is doing the lead out. Livitz is riding to put onley behind for GC. But 350 to go. No one’s jumping. No move from Paga. No move from Vingard. Only with about 200 m to go. Vingard jumps. Pagatcha gets into the wheel, but it’s too late. Aaron wins comfortably in the end with Pagatcha sitting up behind Vingard who takes second. So, another really weird mountaintop finish. Four in a row. That’s been just really strange. I think a lot of us were expecting Pagatcha stomp or a counter from Vingard. Neither happened. Arisman’s the beneficiary again. And although he’s mega strong, here’s what he had to say after the stage. Today is the last mountain stage. I have no GC to ride for, but I will try to hang on a few kilometers on the climb, see how the legs feel. And Toby was uh I told him like straight away swing off and tomorrow is your day. I will see what I can do today. And then I started the climb and I was quite in control. And I was like, I have no GC. Maybe they look at each other. You know what? I just try it and I just don’t take no for an answer. Like it’s Yonas and everybody knows they are the strongest in the world. They are like almost aliens. Uh and then as a just as a human I yeah I still want to try to beat them and it’s it’s I just can’t believe I beat them today. In terms of GC, Pagansa loses 4 seconds to Vingard which is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. So big changes in the top 10. Gold moves up to fifth. Johannes moves up two spots because of Vocal and Roglish. And Roglish moves down to eighth after losing 12 minutes on the climb. He both basically rode it in. So not interested in this top 10. Hope you enjoy the video and I’ll see you with the transition stage recap tomorrow. Chow chow.

  1. This climbs in alps is not a challenge for pogi. Climbs should be more steper like angliru or zpncolan. That would be more interesting and that would give chance to others

  2. The day after he said he would go all in risk he did really good, day after decently and today he was kinda burned out. I didnt expected more really, he tried very good and thats all. People dont know what they looking at, the first day attack was monstrous and they act like he was only getting started lmao he threw a LOT that day and still kept trying what he had left the other days.

  3. Going through pogi situation i will say this. First as a dane rooting for jonas tadej finally did win my respect its clear he is the monster and ive accepted it. Second, i think its rather evident tadej is doping somehow. From 2 years ago he started looking to new methods after losing to jonas twice and his numbers took off like a rocket beyond what elite sportsmen should be able to suddenly do naturally. We have armstrong was it last year advising tadej to take it more easy because its too evident which from every angle i look at it can only mean one thing. Then we have tadej whos suddenly the best in all sorts of things, short races, long races, mountains, flats. The insane mountain performance earlier in dauphine and tour where he literally looks unaffected and barely out of breath while vinge going ALLL in and you can see so strong suffering – tadej lvl is more than suspecious. Im fairly confident tadej will eventually go down as a doper. It is what it is. But i will remind you, that should that happen and nothing comes out on vingegaard i would say vingegaard is the greater rider for grand tours. This year he almost broke tadej the doper. Almost. Exhausted him to the point he didnt have left to show jonas like he normally does, not much life left in tadej lol. But but, time will reveal what is true and what is just speculation.

  4. At least visma found the limit and saw tadejs weakness. Im so glad they stuck to their hellfire guns alltour going at tadej to see if it works. They smell blood, next year could be even worse for tadej. Hopefully for tadej he is 26 and will get some more improvements to help him.

  5. A strange TdF. Too many stages that were neither one thing or the other. Those long and ‘boring’ flat stages that have become a rarity give the climbers a welcome break, sparing legs for the proper high mountains. That Ben O’Conner won the queen stage, fine rider though he is, shows this was a muddled, ill thought out route this year.

  6. Pogi is so much smarter than Visma. They pulled him to many stagewins the last few years. Today he wasnt super strong and didnt want to gift Vingo the win.

  7. why does girmay always sit up in the green jersey sprints? ever since milan yelled at him many times he seems super submissive to milan instead of just doing what he wants.

  8. With Pog only winning one mountain road stage, it feels like he’s underperforming but then you realize he’s won four stages, up 4 mins on Jonas, and 11 mins on third place. It’s scary to think how many stages he may have won if Almedia was still in the race.

  9. Jonas has Never pulled through in tours, even when it would have benefited him, by putting guys close in GC further behind. I can’t stand seeing a “champion”, always sitting on the wheel of a True Champion like Tadej

  10. Its just clear that Jonas is a rider that depends strong on the team and feels best sucking the wheel. I am just happy Pogi took some time first and gave Jonas and Visma some of their own Vingeglue medicine.

  11. I mean atm Pogacar is just the best there is, and Vingegaard is number 2, the only thing I hate about Pogacar is that he won't ever pull for others

  12. Nice to see Tadej get a taste of his own medicine- he’s been on Jonas’ wheel enough times and happy to let Jonas do the work 😉
