Looking for my first ever Trek bike and I’m wondering which bike should I buy? I plan on mainly riding bike paths. I currently ride an Aventon Aventure 2 e-bike but I want to switch to a road bike for more of an exercise. I’ve narrowed my two options down to a used 2020 Domane SL Carbon Fiber for $1600 or a brand new Domane AL 5 Gen 4 for $2100. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I just picked up my brand new Domane AL 5 in that exact color on Monday. I love the green and black combination. It looks even better in person. In the process now of buying all my little accessories and then I’m off to the races. Or I should say charity rides.
Me personally, I would buy a brand new bike instead of a five year old bike. The AL 5 feels super light too. I was pleasantly surprised. This pic was basically an hour after I got it so nothing has been done to it. And not much needs to be! Good luck on your search.
