Does the part that says GIRO lift? If so lift and pull the top portion with the pink GIRO written on it.
Press the area under “giro”, then lift
Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like you need to lift it completely so that the tightening mechanism releases. Almost looks like the top portion of the mechanism is a lip that catches the metal lock.

I had the same system on a similar giro shoe. I also got it stuck a few times. Just keep fiddling with it. Seriously you’ll get it open
