Was trying to find if Domane meant something and came across an article that mentioned Domane, Madone, Emonda are all acronyms. Very cool!

I am just getting into the cycling habit and loving every ride – 80 miles done over the first 6 days of biking and my bum doesn’t hurt as much now! Rest of the body also feels good and my average speed is up to 16 mph. Running is my primary exercise and I have run 40 miles also. Legs feel good and being careful not to over exert. Have two marathons coming up in Sep and Oct, and wanted to see if anyone has advice on alternating running/biking to stay in form.

To be honest, I feel very scared and overwhelmed reading all the bikefit posts. Scared to even go for a bike fit and have them tell me bike is too big, too small, and what all is wrong! Will see how my biking goes over the next 30 days and will attempt longer rides (50 miler perhaps). May even skip bike fit as I fear the list of things I am doing wrong will take the fun out. Thoughts welcome.

I always equate bike fitting to buying a suit. You can get the correct frame size off the rack, but it often has to be tailored to meet your specific needs. The longer distances you ride, the more that applies. Getting a month or so of riding in is a good idea first, then you go see someone if you have discomfort. My fitting for my trek is next month, and I ride so much distance that fitting is the best money I can spend.
