Hello there. Good morning everybody and welcome to another video by me, Mr. Drone, and welcome to Rexom. Um, behind me is the uh Rexom FC Stadium, the racecourse ground um as I know it. So, we are last time I was here was it was about a month ago. I’ve had quite a lot quite a lot on um so we came um a few times once a week um is um about a month ago for for a few weeks because they were doing the the pitch. We were having a good look at that. So, the last time I was here, the the pitch had just started to become green again. Um, so we’re going to get up in the air and see where they’re up to with that as well as the the cop stands. So, they they have started or or they they had removed the the temporary um stand that was there and they it looked like they just just were about to start work on the new cop stand. So, they are building a 5,500 seater stand at the cop end, which is the the opposite end to this. So, we’ll get up and see where they’re up to with that as well. Okay. Um, it is today is Saturday the 20th of July, 2025. Video will come out to you um maybe tomorrow, maybe, maybe Monday by the time I I edit it. Okay. But anyway, let’s get up in the air and take a look at it. This is the uh racecourse ground, home of Rex FC um on the morning um early morning. It’s about 7:00 a.m. on Saturday the 20th of July, 2025. Let’s get up there. [Music] Okay, so we’ve just got up in the air in the corner there. See, there’s already some some vans on site. Wow, look at that pitch. So, since the last time I was here, as I said, um just over just about a month ago, there were um the pitch was just about green again. Just we were just seeing some of the some of the grass seeds growing and it getting green. But take a look at this now. Pitch looks absolutely stunning, doesn’t it? We’ve got a couple of the Cisgrass machines on site as well. So, these machines, in fact, it looks like they’ve probably um they’re probably almost done. They they’ll have worked from the outside in. So, I’d assume that they’ve probably sewn all this area as well as the other side. Let’s move a bit forwards as well as this side cuz they probably moved in together starting from the edges and it’s this middle section to go. So what they’re doing, they are sewing fibers, synthetic fibers in to the grass. It’s amazing design. Um, a lot of a lot of new stadiums are using it now. Um, the the Everton stadium, the new Everton stadium that I’ve uh been covering since July 2021 use this, but a lot of others um use it now as well. makes the surface better for players. Um, but also tougher, more durable, last longer. But there has to be that the the fibers have to be dead fibers have to be removed um every year and restitched, which does of course keep them in good business as well. Let’s move around. And we’ll move around the front stadium pitch is looking absolutely amazing though, isn’t it? Such a shame about the the cop stand, isn’t it? You know, the Reximma starting in the championship this coming season. So, in a couple of weeks, um the championship starts, well, probably about three weeks, but anyway. Um and yet they, you know, they they have to play with this um with the stadium like this. It’s such it’s just such a shame. It’s it’s got to be done, of course, you know, and they are they are taking steps to to make the cop stand, but as I say, it just it just feels like such a shame cuz in the considering the journey they’ve been on. Okay. So, it looks like there’s some some piling holes down here. Oh, it looks like it’s for a fence. Looks like they’re going to fence it off. Makes perfect sense. Yeah, absolute perfect sense. So, it’s not just open there. at the end when games are being played. Would be so weird, wouldn’t it, for like fans, players if it was just open. Of course, they’re going to box it in so they can continue working behind it. Then big drill on the end of the uh A little machine there. They’re using little digger. Looks like his job’s done. Really? Some big holes for a fence. That, isn’t it? For fence posts. Anyway, sis sisgrass machine’s not moving yet. So the the cop stand down here, it’s planned and the target is the end of next season. So it’s going to be ready for the 2026 2027 season. [Music] So a year to build that stand. It’s it’s it’s quite a task though to be honest. That is quite a task. So, we’ll have to keep an eye on it. Let’s see as soon as they start actual work cuz it looks like the first bit is building the fence, which is um in itself. It seems to be a task, doesn’t it? Be interested to see what they put on the front of the fence, won’t it? Let’s see what these guys are doing here. See if they can get those machines going whilst I’m here in the air. Be ideal if they could. Let’s have a circle around. Yeah, as I was saying there, it’ll be um it’s going to be interesting to see what they put on the front of those boards. It’ll be some sort of advertising. I don’t know, maybe they’ll put like illustrations of what the what the new stand’s going to going to look like. Might be quite cool. It looks like he’s got a bit to do to get them going. And it’s starting to rain, so I’m going to uh finish up there. But the pitch is looking great. Um you can see just from here as well, just looking down where that fence where the fence posts have come along to. They are set deep in the the ground, aren’t they? Those fence post, but come along to about halfway. Not not quite halfway. Yeah, as I say, it’s it’s that is quite a task there. Quite a strict strict target to try and get that stand finished in in a year. They’ll obviously why why it becomes more difficult is because they’re starting to play here soon as well. So any match days and that they’ll obviously not be able to to work even though it’ll be behind the behind the fence. they won’t be able to work match days be health and safety I’m quite sure about that when I covered the Liverpool um Anfield Road stand expansion you know even if it was the stand was shut off on match days had to had to stop work because of the amount of traffic in around the stadium just not safe so I’m sure that’ll be the same here anyway guys we’ll uh we’ll finish off there finish off there for today and definitely you back um in the coming in the coming weeks. Okay everybody, so there you go. Um that was just a latest update from me um of the um racecourse ground home of Rexom Football Club and how they’re getting on with the with the pitch which actually looks really really really good to be honest. Um excellent looking looking pitch and certainly be done that for um for the championship to start in a few weeks. As I said they’ve looks like anyway it looks to me like they’ve just got that center section scopes. It’s likely the the cisgrass machines. Um started from each edge and um they usually go up and down the pitch but working their way in. So yeah, that that’s probably what they’ve done and looks like they haven’t got an awful lot to do. So that’ll certainly be done. Um the the cop stand expansion on the other end. Um however, I’m just not sure um of the of the time scales there. It looks like looks very strict. Um hopefully that hopefully they do it. Honestly, I really really really do hope they they have that ready for the 2026 27 season. But it’s just an awful shame, isn’t it, that they they get back to the they they get into the championship and they’ve they’ve got to start with the, you know, with just a free stand. It is what it is, of course. And and the owners are have done an absolutely brilliant job. Um, so I’m genuinely not not like not knocking them, not knocking the club, nothing like that. I’m not I’m just saying it’s it’s a it’s a proper shame um about it like because they were obviously due to start works. Um, I think it was a couple of years ago when they first put it all all in place and and the two owners took over. Um, but there was complications as there is as there is. Can’t do nothing about that. Well, they can they done what they did and overcome them all. Um, and have now got the go ahead, but like I say, they they’ve now time moves fast, doesn’t it? And they’re in the championship next season with just the free stands. But is what it is and we’ll keep an eye on it. Um, and hope they hope they get it get it done and get it ready for the for the uh the next season. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video, guys. Please like, share, and subscribe. I’ll get back here in in a couple of weeks um going away um on holiday for a couple weeks. So, after that, I’ll be back and we’ll we’ll get an update. Okay. Uh thank you very much. Please like, share, and subscribe. [Music]

  1. There has also been additional work done on the dugouts, a new electrical substation has been put in to power the new Kop stand and the uni flats that border the ground. The new stand is mostly being constructed offsite and thenwill be brought in on lorries and erected onsite.

  2. Hi Nick, just to let you know, the main reason the Kop stand needs to be finished, Wrexham are hosting the U17 European Championships Final, and they have £17 million in funding from that, so it’s critical they are ready to host the final

  3. Can't see them building the stand in time tbh. It's less than a year too, I think the EUFA U19 tournament kicks off in early June and the Racecourse is earmarked for one of the venues. Happy holidays btw….

  4. Nice update! Mesmorising watching the progress! The pitch is starting to looking amazing. I think our owners have had to splash out around about £350,000 at least two times on new turf before this SIS hybrid. I don't recall the cost being mentioned, but with undersoil heating its a statement of intent. They're also looking after the fans by doing this who book their lives around games. Overseas fans, many of them who make costly r visits from across 'The Pond' etc have more reassurance when games might be in doubt during bad weather. Keep the videos coming. Its refreshing to to see your balanced views compared to some of the OTT baiting coverage we get from the likes of talkSport etc

  5. Why are foreign teams that have their domestic league allowed to displace English teams that have a right to participate in their domestic league?
The Welsh hate the English and yet financially benefit from English away fans!
If they played in their league, they would qualify for Europe every year!
