New to BMX .

Hi all!
I've just gotten into bmx since it's nearly impossible to go skateboarding these days with all the scooters. And BMX is so fun I can't believe it but a bit hard to understand the gear setup and bike sizing. I bought the 26er and really like it. But then I found an older specialized vegas 24". And that one has a gyro and the handlebars are indexed at 12 o'clock. Is that normal with gyro(doubt it) or is the head bearing done for? And how high bars can I fit?
I get the feeling that the 24 has a less steep rake then the 26 so will that make a tall handlebar end up to close to the saddle?
