Just completed my first bike touring trip. I’ve done a lot of road cycling in my time but normally in a loop and never with luggage. The idea of venturing into the unknown self supported was a slightly intimidating to be honest.
Me and two friends went from London to Brussels over 4 days, via WW1 fields, a pilgrimage to Roubaix Vélodrome, and a few classic Belgian cobbled climbs. On the 5th day we got the Eurostar back to London, and rode home to Cambridge.
I have been lurking on this group for a while picking up packing tips, so thought I would say thanks for all the advice I have stolen, and to share our trip. It was a great experience and can’t wait to do my next adventure – tempted to even get hold of a tent and try a bikepacking overnighter.
