My son has been borrowing this Trek Y-Foil for road biking from a good friends of ours for well over a year. Our friend’s parents bought them both brand new and used to do some biking but they had been sitting in a garage for years. They’re both in great condition. As a thank you, we offered to do the work of selling these bikes for them. I know the Y foil is all about finding the right buyer. We’re thinking of starting at $1200 or $1300 for each but willing to negotiate. Is ebay the best way to go? Or does anyone know of an online forum where people might be looking for this bike?

  1. Heavens, I wouldn’t pay more than $400 unless they have significant upgrades from the original spec—and $400 would be for mint condition.

  2. You’re going to struggle to find a buyer. I’d be surprised if you got 400-500 bucks for it, but more than anything, it’s someone who wants that bike.

I could buy a solid aluminum road bike with modern 105 for 500 bikes that’s newer than those bikes. You need someone who is a collector that wants those bikes. Idk how easy it’s going to be. There are collectors, but a lot like steel road bikes.

So beautiful. I bought the mountain bike version of the delta V in 2000. It’s wonderful to see two of them together in one place and still being used.
