
hello. if you buy stuff on AliExpress you probably know the brands like Gustavo cyclami etc. they make tpu tubes. some suck less or more.
the photo shows the cheapest tpu tube I could find 2$. it was loosing lots of air per week to the point where it was unsafe to ride. it has a plastic stem and I thought the valve was not removable until I got bored and tried to open it.
as you can see between the black plastic and metal there is some sort of transparent glue but it's not on the threads of the valve. I took some lock Tite (didn't have anything on hand) and carefully put some on the threads watching if it drips to the valve core. after some waiting it hold air like a normal tube.

I mean is it not easier to just spend like £5 on a good tube? Or go tubless
How much does it lose over the course of one ride? I have expensive TPU tubes and they definitely leak faster than butyl tubes, but they’re fine for one day.
I think the answer is just check your pressure before every ride. I do this for all of my bikes regardless of whether they’re butyl, TPU and tubeless.
