Wildcamping 56 miles from Felixstowe to Lowestoft
[Music] welcome to the Suffuk Coast Path 56 miles from Felix Sto through to Lowtock first time in Suffuk for me i was on the train on the way up here looking at the uh Google i mean I must have been to Suffach before but no genuinely don’t think I’ve been here so I’m looking forward to this one [Music] i’m about three miles into the coast path now first two miles start out lovely but then you take a ferry across the water which is always nice breaks the day up a bit but I’ve just found out I’ve got a 2 and 1 half mile roadwalk well that sign explains why I’m on a 2 and 1/2 mile roadwalk footpath closed this is better proper coast path walking just think I’m probably going have to change the name of this channel to the Coast Path Trail soon after the Southwest Coast Path before that I did the North Coast Path i was on the uh coast path of the uh South Downs the other the other day next month I’ll probably uh try and finish off the North Downs which finishes me on the coast path i should just do all the bits in between it and join it all up i’m hoping tomorrow night I can find something like this on the beach just camp out like that despite all the coast of walking I’ve done I’ve never camped on a beach [Music] i’ve just been having a sit down and a bite to eat sort of trying to work out a game plan i’m 9 miles in where I was going to camp is only about another seven miles but it’s 3:00 in the afternoon so I want to get there way too early there’s nothing really in between here and there either there isn’t even a pub or a town I pass through where I can just kill a bit of time so I might have to really play this by ear today and it’s the frustrating thing is for the last couple of hours there’s just an abundance of places I could have pitched up but where I’m going to get to this evening it’s just not i don’t think there’s going to be uh because I’ll be coming inland slightly before I get back down to the coast around an estie and I won’t be hitting the coast again unless I do a 27 mile day i don’t really want to do that so I think might to uh play this one by ear a bit today this could be one of those last minute rushing around the trying to find a wild camp spot it feels like I’m getting nowhere because there’s no I can’t there’s nothing to pick out to see that I can get closer to that and closer to that so it feels a bit never ending at the moment but it’s very much like so far like the North Coast Past if you’ve never done that very similar to that sort of thing with sort of marsh land either side you know the sea is way over there that bit of water here is just an inlet and over the shingle bank is the sea haven’t seen that for quite some time just at Biton Dock here this is 11 and a half miles in this would have been a great little place for a camp miles from anything but sadly it’s 4:00 but it did have a bench in the shade here which has been very handy there’s another field here of perfect turf it’s the second one I’ve passed and it it must be for landscaping industry or sports pitches but there’s not a single weed on there well there’s probably one or two but I had a little look on it it’s just perfect grass no weeds no nothing never really thought about it before it must be for the landscaping or I know they have fields like this for sports pitches they dig them up when they relay a sports pitch for some of the football stadiums must be what it’s for they got more sand on their farm tracks than they have on their beaches this is hard going this is Tons Woods where I was going to camp tonight i’m kind of glad I I’m not it’s actually just thick with bracken but it’s just got horror story written all over it like the start of every horror film in the woods it’s quite dark in here as well probably would have freaked me out during the night so I’m glad I’m not uh glad I’m not staying here now another perfect grass field how long did it take to tie all these on all the way around the field they seriously want to look after their grass don’t they it must be cuz this that’s why it’s so flat and perfect it’s crazy oh patch of weeds there sort that out this stuff is getting monotonous to walk on it’s It’s really doing my doing my legs it slows you down i’ve never seen anything like it no mud around here it’s just all sand we are finally back by the water that was a long drag back there i think Snake Snape Mortings is up there so between here and there I’m going to see if there is anywhere I can camp once we get past these houses if not it will be on the other side of the eststerie it might look quite dark on the camera now and probably rightly so it’s 10 to 10 there’s a couple of uh good spots I found just near Snake Molings there’s a concert on there i’ve had a couple of pints in there waiting for it to get dark and for people to clear out but there’s a couple of fields around here that look like I’ve just been moaned for hay fairly recently so I’m going to mooch about loiter a bit set up for the night so I’m going to sign off for the night day one has been good really enjoyed it lot of long walking um long periods of the sort of the same thing but there’s been a variation there but I really quite enjoyed it today it’s been flat which is the main thing but yeah I’m looking forward to tomorrow i think tomorrow might be a little bit There’ll be a few more shops along the way and it’s going to be hotter tomorrow as well so I’m going to I’m going to leave you now sign off for the night get pitched up somewhere i mean even here there’s a there’s a lovely grass spot in this bunch of trees here so there’s a few spots I’m going to check out i’m going to get set up and uh I will see you in the morning

Nice video mate. Enjoyed it
Hi, am new to your channel and enjoying the videos. BTW there’s an alternative to the forest walk via Orford which goes along the river edge; it’s better but longer. The turf farm would have previously been a pig farm. The animals clear the ground ready for the grass growing.
