You bought a fork with a 1.8 steerer tube… all is not lost

I hope this may help somebody!
Like you I fell for a too good to be true deal on a Lyrik Ultimate with a 1.8 tapered steerer tube! A standard I wasn’t even aware existed.

I’ve only realized my mistake after cutting the steerer so sending back the fork was no longer an option.

I managed to find this lower cup from Acros 300.02.1065S-1.8-AM

If you are lucky enough and your bike comes with a ZS56 lower cup, you can use this EC56/46 lower cup from acros without changing the upper cup! Note that this will add around 1cm of stack underneath your headtube, lowering your head angle by about 0.5 degree…

Quick notes regarding the headset
-the crown race is included with the lower cup
-the bearing is integrated, cannot be replaced like a canecreek….
-the crown race has a rubber seal and is much larger than a 1.5’’, to press it acros sells an adapter which I recommend.
