I don’t even use bar plugs cus they’re always falling out I just finish an inch before the end with black tape. It matches the top of the bar tape and it gives the bike a naked look.

  2. Just used some Selle Italia tape and did a reverse wrap on my bars to avoid using finishing tape. The tape doesn’t have adhesive on it but it’s super tacky so it wasn’t a problem. Would recommend.

Ali express Ride Race bar tape. Black. Amazing value for a great tape.

  4. Salsa’s gel cork tape has been my go-to for years and years. Comfy, easy to install, and very affordable.

I use Cinelli cork tape. It’s cheap and I don’t feel bad when I need to replace it. Also you can really layer it thick for comfort.

Is this a thread of the worst tape because what are these answers??? The best tape is Lizard Skins DSP tape. Tacky and great for gloves or no gloves. Comes in 3 thicknesses and tons of colors. Easy to wrap with, and last a long time.

  7. I’m a fan of fizik’s classic bar tape. It’s not very grippy but it is very durable, sleek, and stays neat.

im using a local supplied real cow leather bartape. I cant seem to find them again, but the leather is super soft but thin. its like second skin. im just not sure about getting them rained on, since they are real leather and water and leather are not good combination.

  10. BW Bar tape on Amazon, cheap, wraps well, holds up, and dries fast. Have it on 4 of my bikes.

ENVE tape is awesome … and extra long so you do t have to worry about spacing.

I just picked up some Ergon all road 2.5mm and it went on really nice and came with nice finishing tape and plugs. Feel is excellent and it also looks like it will wear well.

I have been using Enve for a few years and while I still like it wanted to try something different.

    Would recommend either

  13. Ciclovation grind touch is my new favorite. It’s pricey but so nice and the brown color perfectly complements tan sidewall tires.

  14. Most bar tapes are made by Velo Enterprise Co (who also make most saddles.) Check the packaging and you’ll see the same white sticker with a patent number on it. Just choose the thickness of your liking and silicone backing instead of the adhesive tape.

  15. Of the ones I’ve used, from favorite to least favorite:

    – ENVE
    – Supacaz
    – Zipp
    – Lizard Skins

I wear gloves 100% of the time so I don’t care as much about tackiness as I do padding.

  16. Used only Supacaz for years (black Friday it’s half price) but recently switched to one of the SILCA ones. Seems great, but not as flashy.

fun tip you can use tennis overgrip tape, it’s a lot cheaper. You do use more rolls but u can get 15 rolls for 8 bucks , just stay away from Wilsons, and Never buy the big roll , buy the multi packs . I have 6 rolls on each side of my handlebars. It’s a lot more conferrable and helps with all the road bumps/shocks. As for brand i really like EgoNova but their black overgrip tape is usually bought out.

  18. I’m eyeing Prologo Onetouch 3D as my next bartape. Anyone had experience with it?

  19. Throwing in my vote for Silca Cuscino. I’ve tried supacaz which is nice but silca is #1

  20. Ran the Arundel Rubber Gecko tape for a while and I did like it but went back to trusty Enve tape.
