I’m planning a somewhat spontaneous trip from Luxembourg to Paris and then back home to the Netherlands.

I might run out of time, so I might take the train through Belgium.

From the SNCB planner, it tells me that all trains are “difficult “. The first train has 6 spots per car and must be opened by the conductor. The second doesn’t day.

How likely is this to be full? I’d be doing this the first Monday in August.

In the Netherlands, there’s a stated max of about 3 bikes per car (that varies by train). However, the reality is it’s whatever people can fit. Last weekend there were 10 bikes crammed in where I was.

So what’s the actual situation? Any routes that are more likely to have room?
