The worst day of the tour, a 4 hour journey that turned into a ten hour ride, and a pair of sore backsides, had two nights in Lourdes for a bit of bottom rest.
Hope you enjoy the video, please leave any comments we do respond to all of them.

This had to be the worst day of the tow with the satnav losing all the roots and tracks from the previous update. I reinstalled them. However, it didn’t install all the way points which at the time I wasn’t aware of. I plotted a roofless to travel the air 28 which was a couple of stops would have taken 4 and a half hours to quatier and the satnav for some reason took us on the air 26 and we ended up riding the outer ring road in Paris. We eventually got to the hotel 10 hours later and there’s not a lot of footage of of us arriving as all the camera batteries died. Is it 1:00? It is. Should have been halfway there by now. Yep. Absolutely. We’re going to have to get rid of this Garmin and get something else. I don’t know what you’re going to get to us. I thought the TomTom was bad, but this is absolutely unreal. It’s not even like the end of the day for rush hour, is it? No. I really don’t like these. Heat. Heat. Oh god, it’s a boat. Sorry, I didn’t want to block your me concentration. I made some moves. like Mr. B. What is it? Garage. We need a break anyway, no matter what. So, it’s a bit of a break. How are you for fuel while you’re here? Fuel’s a bit petrol. I feel a little bit but not a lot. Not too much. Okay. Hey, good enough. So, here’s the second stop of the tour at the hotel. Come in in Platers in France. Bit small. Not too bad. It’ll do for the night. Bit basic. Very basic. Yeah. Clean though. Yeah, it’s clean. Would recommend it. Nice friendly staff. Lovely food. We had beef burg for our tea, followed by pudding, which was even nicer. Chocolate pudding. Chocolate pudding. Chocolate pudding. So, yeah, it’s not bad. Then tomorrow is heading up to down to Loads. All right. So, we’re just leaving after a night stop off. Stop off and get some fuel. Not a bad hotel. for the price. €40 for the night. All right. I’ll be driving the A10. I must say I do like this cruise control. It really does save you your throttle hand. This is day two. Or is it day three? I can’t remember. They’re free. Very fancy. It’s good every camp destinations. Oh, she broke up. How can I show on each of this. I got uh half a kilometer. We’re just going to pull in for some bottom rest. All right. So, we’re nearly at loads. Had a couple of narrow escapes. Coach is pulling out on the uh the roundabouts. Let’s get the last ride into Louis. And although I’ve had to come through France, our main objective is to get to Portugal and to ride the Pyrenees and the Peacans to an end. Although I wouldn’t do it again. Absolutely wouldn’t. Talk about ripoff toll roads. It certainly took its toll on my bloody wallet. We’re going to We are going to have a a two day resting loads. It’s a new bike and the bum’s killing me. So, we’ve got a hotel booked and it’s the only last hotel we’ve got booked cuz after that we’re camping. But yeah, these tow roads in France honestly total ripoff the varying prices but we must have spent and I did try and set the route to avoid in fact I did set the route to avoid toll roads but obviously they can’t but they vary so much in price it’s ridiculous. One of them cost us €30, one cost us €120 as in €120 and your was €30. How can you justify that? The roads aren’t any different. I don’t normally rant, but criy when I get something like that, it’s like a total ripoff. I said to Tracy, if we come this way again on any tour, we’ll just get the bloody ferry and cut France out all together. Not long to go now. The weather’s turned. It’s been absolutely gorgeous. Think to about 2 hours ago. Clouded over. Forecast thunderstorms. It started to rain a bit back. So, hence the the waterproofs that we’ve got on. Bling stopped again. But better to be safe than sorry. And the bike has performed absolutely spot on. It hasn’t missed a beat at all. The only niggle is the rear tire pressure monitoring thing. For some reason, it keeps saying it’s over inflated. It’s not. Have I put the correct um PSI in. I’ve used a proper manual pressure gauge. But now it’s stopped. It’s saying it’s all okay. But apart from that that the bike has performed admirably. I’m so pleased I bought it and it’s fully loaded up. It’s got me Tracy 58 L top box which is full. Paniers that are full. Pier topper bags that are full. crash bar bags that are full and me tank bag which is also full. And believe me, this weighs an absolute ton. It’s unbelievably heavy. And the bike has handled everything that’s been thrown at it so far. It really has. As I say, I’ve got is a a bit of a sore backside and I think that’s because it’s a new bike. Um, the seat is a little bit on the hard side. So, I’m hoping by the end of this tour it’ll be broken in like a pair of shoes will be as comfy as a sofa. Here’s hoping. Oh, the other niggle is the speed out by about 3 m an hour. I’ve just verified it again. Little bit back there. Going past the speed checker. And the uh the dashboard said I was doing 70 and the speed checker said I was doing 66 and the 66 is what the satin of speed was showing. Any I’ll show now till we get a bit closer to loads and hopefully find the hotel. Caught behind the nation blinds. I had to reach for the city lights. This ain’t where I belong. And you look at me mon what I become. I’ve been running east looking for sunset, digging deep since 99. What I thought was gone was sitting in my pocket and playing all along. It’s raining again. We’ve got a few miles to go. And we should hopefully be there in 10 10 minutes. Fell between the fing stitches. Time to let go. So come with me. Don’t look. That’s it. We’re in LS. Just got to find the hotel now. I’m going to turn left down here. down. No, it’s not. They’re saying it’s the wrong way, but Ste then key son John hotel Oh, what?

  1. Had the same TPMS issue. I totally deflated both tyres then re inflated the rear first then the front. Since doing that both read accurately on the dash.

  2. When driving down to the South West of France via Tours I've always preferred the more picturesce journey from Rouen to Chatres and then follow the N10 to Tour. You can then chose to take the payage to Poitiers or follow the A10 which is slower but more enjoyable a drive/ride.
