I always wanted a classic road bike and I got a good deal on this 531 frame.
It was rusty and needed some TLC.
Treated it for rust, repainted it and managed to keep most of the orignal decalsm with the exception of the downtube decal.
The painting took the longest because my first approach of touching up looked very poor, so I went for a full repaint.
Originally had a classic Stronglight crank on there, the one that is star shaped but I had no french thread pedals.
Luckily, I still had this crank around from a curb bike.
I got incredibly lucky with the wheels, I got these Campagnolo Record wheels with Mavic rims from 100 euros from another Peugeot that was on sale. Never have I ridden wheels that spun smoother, I don't really have to pedal, they just keep going once I'm at speed.
MAFAC brakes and levers with Simplex downtube shifters.
I will however swap the stem to a shorter one, 130mm is a bit too long.
I hope you enjoy!
