Just south of Pula lies the rugged beauty of Kamenjak — a wild peninsula of rocky coves, turquoise water, and unspoiled nature.

We started our day trip in the village of Premantura, rented bikes, and hit the dusty trails of Kamenjak Nature Park. Along the way, we found quiet beaches like Pinižule and Polje, quirky cliffside bars like Njive and Safari, and ended the day at the very tip — Cape Kamenjak.

This isn’t your average beach day. It’s raw, windy, and full of surprises. The kind of place where you trade flip-flops for hiking shoes and follow the sound of waves echoing through sea caves.

We’re heading out of Pula to explore the Kamenjak 
National Park. Located just about 12 km southeast from Pula, Prematurura is a charming coastal 
village perched at the entrance to Kamenjak Peninsula and it is the gateway to one of 
Croatia’s most treasured natural parks. Although small in size, Prematurura is big on character. 
The village itself has a laid-back Mediterranean vibe with narrow stone streets, old stone houses, 
and a scattering of cafes and traditional taverns. It dates back to Roman times, and its location 
at the southernmost tip of Istria made it a strategic coastal point throughout history. Good 
morning. So, we arrived at Premantura, which is a small town or a village. We took bus number 
28 from Pula city centre and it took us only 20 minutes to get there and we rented the 
bikes and made our way to the national park.
