I was riding my Aeroad CF SLX 8 and realized there was a creaking. The wheel isn’t freely spinning and I found that the Ratchet EXP freehub body on the DT Swiss 350 hub is shifted a few millimeters off-center and the cassette wobbles side-to-side when I spin the wheel. The pedals spin with the :
Cleaned and greased pawls per DT spec
Checked bearing preload and end-cap torque
Ruled out wheel dish or spoke issues
Canyon Support hasn’t replied.
Has anyone seen this before?
I’ve called canyon, started a chat and emailed them. It seems like their system is down. I have a century race in 13 days. I’m wondering if I should wait on Canyon or go to my lbs and the the freehub replaced. It’s about $70, maybe $130 with maintenance and ask canyon if they can reimburse me.
Should I keep following up with Canyon or DT Swiss or have the LBS take care of it? Any tips or alternative fixes would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

  1. Pale_Pie_5209 on

You can see at the top of the freehub where the paint is worn off from the imbalance

  2. Could be a worn out bearing, had the same issue on my mtb last year. Bearings for the microspline hub could be replaced, maybe that’s an option for your hub. Could same you some $
